Cowboys Believe They Have 'Secret Sauce' To Win Super Bowl

Jun 10, 2014 5:17 PM

The Dallas Cowboys haven't won a Super Bowl since the mid-1990s and haven't reached the playoffs since 2009.

The Washington Redskins won the NFC East last season, while the New York Giants were Super Bowl champions in 2012. The Philadelphia Eagles hired Chip Kelly in the offseason, while the Cowboys largely preserved the status quo.

"We’re convinced we’ve got the 'secret sauce' to put this thing back together again and win championships," said Stephen Jones.

Cowboys Give AT&T Stadium's New Turf Positive Reviews

Dec 7, 2014 9:54 AM

The Dallas Cowboys practiced on the new field turf at AT&T Stadium on Thursday.

The stadium opened in 2009.

“(It was) good for us to be able to get out there and run around a little bit, have a real football practice instead of just walking around or jogging around on it before the game,” said Jason Garrett.

“I like it,” Sean Lee said. “It’s not as thick and you’ve got a little bit more grip with the spikes we have…This is more like what I’ve played on since I was young. ”

Dez Bryant: NCAA 'Unfair' If Manziel Not Suspended

Oct 31, 2014 2:22 PM

Dez Bryant said he would be bothered if Johnny Manziel is not suspended by the NCAA for allegedly violating rules by being paid to sign autographs.

Bryant was suspended for the final 10 games of his college career while at Oklahoma State for lying to an NCAA investigator about a lunch with Deion Sanders that didn't actually violate rules.

"Hell, yeah, I'll be mad. I'll be mad," said Bryant. "But I don't want him to get suspended. I would be mad more at the NCAA for how they do things.

"I just feel like it's not fair. This is something I have no problem talking about because I feel like somebody needs to say something to them and let it be known how they treat people is not right."

Bryant said he feels like he "didn't get the same love" from the media as Manziel.

"I don't think my situation was as [bad] as his," Bryant said. "Johnny Manziel is a great football player. I really hope him the best. I hope he doesn't get suspended. I pray that he don't get suspended, because I love watching him. But as far as the NCAA, I just think they do a lot of stuff unfair."

Cowboys Continue To Search For Offensive Linemen

Jul 22, 2014 10:52 PM

The Dallas Cowboys continue to search for help on their offensive line.

The Cowboys are interested in guard Brian Waters, who hasn't played since 2011.

Injuries and ineffective play have forced the Cowboys to search for some help.

"Again, it's just an overall look see on what we are doing in the interior, and he is an outstanding player," Cowboys owner/general manager Jerry Jones said Friday night about Waters. "That's about all I can say about that."

Cowboys Likely To Move Practice Facility To Frisco

Jul 21, 2014 12:26 AM

The Dallas Cowboys are nearing a deal to move their practice facility from Valley Ranch in Irving, Texas to Frisco, Texas.

Irving would most likely have had to upgraded the current facility and Arlington could have built one next to AT&T Stadium.

Frisco seems like the best fit based on available land and the cities commitment to adding sports teams.

Be The GM: Robert Griffin III Or Dez Bryant

Oct 17, 2014 12:36 AM

The Dallas Cowboys and Washington Redskins are perennially linked, so we follow suit with having Dez Bryant lined up against Robert Griffin III in our 'Be The GM' series.

Dez Bryant fell to 24th overall in the 2010 NFL Draft amid off the field issues and after a few issues early in his career, the Cowboys have done a great job in protecting him. With glimpses of excellence in his first two seasons, Bryant put it all together in 2012 with 92 catches for 1,382 yards and 12 touchdowns.

Bryant combination of speed and strength makes him the type of weapon that will always be able to impact the game.

Bryant ranked 35th on NFL.com's list ahead of the 2013 season and he won't turn 25 until November.

Griffin exceeded the most bullish expectations during his rookie season, completing 258 of 393 pass attempts for a passer rating of 102.4 with 20 touchdowns coming against just five interceptions. Griffin also carried the ball 120 times for 815 yards and seven touchdowns, becoming the type of dual-threat quarterback that makes it seem like you're watching a video game.

Griffin had a 9-6 record as a starter as he led the Redskins back into the playoffs.

The only issue with Griffin, who won't turn 24 until February, is his long-term health. Griffin tore his ACL and LCL last season and we will need to see if he regains his prior form physically and whether he can make adjustments to his style of play to avoid injuries without compromising the aspects of his game that make him great.

Brandon Moore Turns Down Cowboys, Decides To Retire

Aug 3, 2014 9:02 PM

Brandon Moore has decided to retire from the NFL after 10 seasons all with the New York Jets.

Moore had agreed upon a one-year, $2 million contract on Tuesday with the Dallas Cowboys, but decided to change his mind.

"I was wrestling with it all day, going back and forth with my wife and family," Moore said by phone. "Finally, we decided, 'Let's go ahead and do it.' I didn't sleep at all. I was wrestling with it. I realized it was too late in the game to uproot my family. I called my agent and said, 'I can't do it.'"

Moore had been leaning toward retiring throughout the offseason.

Moore switched to the offensive line after playing defense in college and started 142 games for the Jets.
