A number of team sources said Tuesday that the Cowboys are not shopping running back Marion Barber.
Barber is coming off two injury-filled seasons where he failed to rush for more than 1,000 yards.
The NFL Network reported on Monday that Barber was available via trade.
Barber is scheduled to get a $4 million roster bonus and a $3.8 million base salary in 2010.

Dallas Tent-Collapse Firm Files For Bankruptcy
The parent company of the business that built the Cowboys practice facility that collapsed in a wind storm last May has filed for protection from its creditors.
Cover-All Building Systems Inc. of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, said Thursday it will seek to restructure its finances under court supervision while continuing "limited operations."
Most of Cover-All's nearly 500 employees were laid off Thursday, the company said in an e-mail to The Associated Press.
Cowboys Consider Starting Felix Jones
The Cowboys are thinking about starting running back Felix Jones over veteran Marion Barber next season.
"Yes. That has been a consideration, and it certainly is a consideration," Dallas owner Jerry Jones said Tuesday.
"I see the advantages the way we've done it [with Barber starting] and opening up real physical and intermediately bringing what Felix brings to the table. But it was a pretty close decision, really."
Jones added that he would like to get Felix Jones, a first-round pick in 2008, more carries.
Austin's Agent Hopes For New Contract
David Dunn, the agent for Cowboys receiver Miles Austin, said Monday he's hoping to get his client a new contract by the start of the 2010 season.
Austin, a restricted free agent, was given a first- and third-round tender worth $3.168 million.
Dunn wouldn't comment if other teams have shown interest in giving Austin an offer sheet. The deadline to do so is April 15.
Sources: Dez Bryant To Visit Dallas
Oklahoma State wide receiver Dez Bryant will visit the Cowboys for a private workout on April 1, according to multiple sources.
Bryant will have a personal workout for NFL teams March 30 in his hometown of Lufkin, Texas.
RealGM's Jeff Risdon has Bryant going to the Dolphins with the 12th pick in his latest mock draft.
Cowboys Getting Ready For Free Agency Push
Jerry Jones spent several hours discussing free agency before he left to take part in a press conference at Cowboys Stadium for the upcoming fight.
Jones said he has a sense of what the club will be able to do in free agency and said the team is ready to start scheduling visits.
"I don't want to give a time, because this has everything to do with their schedules,'' Jones said.
Jones said he has enough information to act now on any player the Cowboys want if the situation warrants. But he also believes there will be some opportunities that are not yet apparent.
"I'm anticipating some value and opportunity that is not necessarily there right now,'' Jones said. "The process hasn't let us get there.
"Now, if that doesn't show, that will limit what I do.''
Ellis Open To Dallas Return
Greg Ellis has been released by Oakland, and his agent said the outside linebacker/defensive end would be open to a return to the Cowboys.
The Cowboys rarely rule anything out, including Ellis' return. But he didn't leave on the best of terms, he's 35 years old and there are reports out of the Raiders that he has an arthritic condition in his knee.
Ellis had seven sacks and forced two fumbles in 14 games for the Raiders last season.
Austin Receives Highest Tender From Dallas
Miles Austin has been given the highest-level tender offer by the Cowboys, guaranteeing them first- and third-round draft pick compensation if he signs with another team.
Austin would make $3.168 million in 2010, following a breakout year in which he recorded 81 catches for 1,320 yards and 11 touchdowns.
It is Austin's second consecutive year as a restricted free agent. He played under the second-round tender in 2009, at $1.545 million.
Romo Has 'Peyton Manning Attitude'
Jason Witten was recently interviewed and was asked about teammate Tony Romo.
"I think you look what he did this year, and I don't think there's a quarterback that's played at the level he has that's taken on more criticism than what he has. But, he really doesn't allow that to faze him. I think he understands the challenges there. There's been a lot of great quarterbacks in that franchise for a long time - (Roger) Staubach, (Troy) Aikman . . . he only threw nine interceptions, which was a huge difference from the year before, and he had a great understanding. And I think for everybody on our team we really realized that that's our guy, that's the leader of this team. We had a lot of doom and gloom in December for a long time, and we were able to get over that. . . He is easy-going and laid back. (But people ask) does he have enough to take the team; I mean, does he have that 'Peyton Manning' attitude where the team's under his arms. He's got that."
Choice Torn Between Cowboys, More Touches
Cowboys running back Tashard Choice likes the organization, but isn't against the thought of a trade if it will pave the way for more playing time.
"I heard a lot of rumors and speculation," Choice told ESPNDallas.com.
"It lets you know other teams want you and that they've noticed you. I want to stay here. It's a great place and a great organization to play for. It's just that the situation that I'm in, man, it's hard.
"I only get to actually run the football when the other two guys get hurt, and I don't want the other two guys to get hurt. I want them to play well and be on top of their games."

Jones Predicts Changes In Dallas
