Dec 10, 2014 10:38 PM

Jesse Holley was named the winner of "4th and Long" on Monday night, a reality television show organized by former Cowboys wide receiver Michael Irvin. Holley's prize is the 80th spot on the Cowboys' training-camp roster and a standard rookie contract. Irvin believes that Holley could turn into more than just a practice body. "There's a great opportunity for my guy, Jesse, to do some wonderful things," Irvin told The Associated Press. "I think the world of Jesse. I don't think he'll let us down. I would not be a bit surprised if you guys end up saying, 'Wow, look at what this guy has become.' "

Romo: Kids Shouldn't Limit Themselves To One Sport

Jun 9, 2014 8:03 AM

Tony Romo played a number of sports as a kid, and doesn't think children should limit themselves to just one activity. "People sometimes today are predominantly putting their kids into one sport," said Romo at a golf tournament. "Age 10, they're going to do one thing the rest of their life. I have a hard time with that because, shoot, I was like a basketball player as a kid. I would have just concentrated on one sport, soccer or something," he added.

Roy Williams Might Boycott Media This Season

Sep 17, 2014 9:38 AM

Cowboys wide receiver Roy Williams is thinking about giving the silent treatment to the media this season. Jean-Jacques Taylor of the Dallas Morning News wrote that it's a bad sign if Williams has decided to boycott the media because he doesn't like what is being written about him. "There's no law that says a guy has to talk if he doesn't want to, but it also means he has no right to question what you write since he doesn't want to answer your questions," Taylor wrote. "But if Williams doesn't want to talk because he doesn't like what he's reading. Or he thinks he's being criticized too harshly, then that's a warning sign that shouldn't be ignored."

Ware Hid To Give Ellis Playing Time

Oct 31, 2014 4:45 AM

Greg Ellis, who was vocal about his displeasure with his diminished role with the Cowboys last season, said on ESPN 103.3's "Michael Irvin Show" Wednesday that former teammate DeMarcus Ware shared his frustration to the point that Ware would hide from coaches during games so Ellis could play. "It's a disgrace when DeMarcus Ware comes off the field just so I can get in the game and when the coaches tell him to come on the field, he tries to hide so I can play," Ellis said on Irvin's show. "And you're telling me we're trying to win the Super Bowl?"

Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo says that he has been very involved in football this offseason. "It's been very football heavy this offseason," Romo told the Journal Times. "We had a lot of OTA's and a lot of minicamps, the most since I've been here. The guys have worked their butts off and we've tried to put ourselves in position to be successful by doing everything we can this offseason. "Since I've been playing in the NFL, this has been the best offseason to date and that excites you as a quarterback. In that regard, it's been real enjoyable." Romo added that he is excited to see who steps up in the absence of Terrell Owens. "It's going to be real interesting to see who steps up and takes over some of the things we may have lost with 81 (Owens)," the quarterback said.
