Owens: Phillips Is A Great Coach

Sep 17, 2014 9:39 AM

Bill Parcells and Terrell Owens never hit it off in Dallas, but Cowboys coach Wade Phillips got along fine with the receiver. "Wade is a great coach," Owens told the Dallas Morning News. "Definitely when I was there, we made things work. We just didn't execute on the football field. There's a lot of things you can always point back to the coach, but the players are the ones that really make the things happen on the football field. Bottom line, we didn't get it done."

Owens: I'll Be The Scapegoat In Dallas

Sep 17, 2014 9:38 AM

Terrell Owens made his personal Farewell to Dallas tour this week, just a few months after the Cowboys released him. "I miss Dallas, but I have a new team," Owens said. "It's already behind me." Owens hosted 150 kids in his fourth annual two-day summer football camp. Dallas owner Jerry Jones has said Owens was cut to help establish Tony Romo as the team's unquestioned leader. Owens said Romo could've established himself before but "that didn't happen." "So I will be the scapegoat," T.O. said. "I'm not here any more and I wish him well."

"There has been an enormous buzz surrounding them since they appeared on the scene a few months ago. Free Reign has already been flooded with endorsements. Their marketing potential is limitless. These guys are already huge sports stars, but they have shown they have the talent to diversify."

Jones: Cowboys Aren't Less Talented Without T.O.

Sep 17, 2014 9:38 AM

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones doesn't believe that his team took a step back in the talent department when they let Terrell Owens go. "If I look at who's going to be on the field, if we don't have to make adjustments because of injuries, we'll be a more talented team," Jerry said. "When I look at what we've substituted in there for the players who have left, I don't think we have stepped back in our talent at all. "Frankly, the most basic reason that I changed my mind regarding Terrell Owens was the ability to maximize the potential of Roy Williams, Miles Austin, Sam Hurd, the running backs and our tight ends. That was the most fundamental thing."
