Terry Glenn To Have Knee Scoped

Oct 23, 2014 6:31 AM

The Cowboys announced Tuesday that Terry Glenn will undergo arthroscopic knee surgery. Glenn, 33, suffered the injury Sunday and has not practiced since. An MRI came back negative, but the 12-year veteran does have a tiny cyst on the back of his knee cap. Team owner and GM Jerry Jones said the surgery is scheduled for Tuesday and that Glenn will likely miss two weeks. Glenn should be ready when the Cowboys open the season at home vs. NFC East rival Giants on September 9.

Linebacker Ellis Contemplating Retirement

Oct 23, 2014 6:31 AM

Another day in the Greg Ellis chronicles featured the seemingly beleaguered linebacker talking about his next move if the Cowboys don't give in to his demands for a new contract. Ellis said his frustration is all about loyalty. He said he has given his all to the Cowboys and wants them to show him their commitment by adjusting his contract. "Emotionally, it's hard to be married to a person if they are stepping out on you every night," Ellis said. He didn't rule out retirement, though Ellis understands the Cowboys could penalize him for an early departure by forcing him to pay back a portion of his signing bonus.

Romo: Cowboys Have Shot At Winning Super Bowl

Oct 23, 2014 6:31 AM

Just for the record, when quarterback Tony Romo predicted a Super Bowl run for the Cowboys in 2007, he wasn't just caught up in the moment. Romo said his opinion is based on what the Cowboys did last season and the potential he sees for next year based on their play during last weekend's minicamp. Fielding a question from the audience during the Dallas All Sports Association Hall of Fame luncheon Monday, Romo said, "I think we've got a chance to go real deep. I think this team has a shot at winning the whole thing." Asked to clarify his statements following the luncheon, Romo didn't back down. He said the Cowboys have as good a chance as anybody. "I think part of it is what I saw at camp and part of it is what we've got coming back," Romo said. "But seeing what I saw at camp excites me." Romo is also feeling good about the ongoing talks with the Cowboys about a contract extension. His current deal runs through 2007.

T.O. Sues Nightclub Over Use Of His Name, Photo

Oct 23, 2014 6:31 AM

Cowboys receiver Terrell Owens filed a $600,000 lawsuit, contending his name and photo were used in nightclub ads without his permission. Owens says the Avalon nightclub on Manhattan's West Side improperly used his name, likeness and initials T.O. in 2006 and 2007 to promote its Friday Night Lights events and other parties. He says the club claimed he would be hosting the parties. Owens' lawyer, Robert Milner, said Monday that as far as he knew Avalon officials had never tried to contact Owens.

Cowboys Won't Look At Tank

May 25, 2014 9:08 PM

Put the Cowboys at the top of the list of those not interested in giving former Bears defensive tackle Tank Johnson a second chance. "Any interest would be pretty minimal right now," Cowboys director of scouting Jeff Ireland told the Ft. Worth Star-Telegram. "There were a lot of issues coming out of college with this guy, and now it's been compounded by what went on with the Bears. I don't think we'd be interested at all."
