Brady Quinn's wish has been granted, although it didn't happen the way he expected.
After paying a heavy price to the Cowboys for the 22nd overall pick, the Browns selected Quinn, Notre Dame's all-time passing leader, in Saturday's draft.
The Cowboys received a first-round pick in 2008 and a second-round pick in this draft (36th overall) for the 22nd overall pick.
Many expected the Browns to pick Quinn, who grew up in Dublin, Ohio and wanted to play for Cleveland, with the third overall pick in the draft. Instead, Browns general manager Phil Savage used that pick on Wisconsin tackle Joe Thomas.
Twenty other teams also passed on selecting Quinn before the Browns made their trade with the Cowboys.

Dallas Re-Signs CB Jacques Reeves
Restricted free agent Jacques Reeves, who has served as the No. 4 cornerback in Dallas the past three seasons and is one of the Cowboys' better special teams players, has re-signed with the club.
The former Purdue standout signed the one-year qualifying offer, for $850,000, tendered him by the Cowboys at the outset of the free agency period. Unless he signs an extension to the deal, Reeves will be eligible for unrestricted free agency next spring.

Bledsoe Announces Retirement
Drew Bledsoe threw for 44,611 yards and 251 touchdown passes during his 15-year career.
?I feel so fortunate, so honored, to have played this game that I love for so long, with so many great players, and in front of so many wonderful fans,? he said. ?I fulfilled a childhood dream the first time I stepped on an NFL field, and the league did not let me down one time. I retire with a smile on my face, in good health, and ready to spend autumns at my kids' games instead of my own. I'm excited to start the next chapter of my life.?
Irvin Accused Of Assaulting Contractor
Michael Irvin, former Cowboys wide receiver and ESPN analyst, is facing accusations he assaulted a disabled contractor who was hired to install a fountain at his Plano home.
Shawn Vandergrift filed a lawsuit Monday against Mr. Irvin in Denton County, claiming that the former player yelled at him and grabbed him during a December dispute over a final payment for the construction work.
The suit claims that Mr. Vandergrift is permanently disabled by a hip condition and that he required medical attention as a result of being grabbed on the left arm during the confrontation.
Irvin could not be reached for comment Monday night.
Cowboys New Stadium On Schedule
Before there can be a hole in the roof at the new Cowboys stadium, there had to be a big hole in the ground.
It was a year ago Tuesday that dirt excavation began at the site of the $1 billion, 80,000-seat stadium that is scheduled to completed for the 2009 season.
On Monday, workers installed the first of more than 3,000
precast concrete risers to which the stadium seats will be mounted.
It will take 16 months to install all the seating risers, which will have a total weight of nearly 30,000 tons.
"We're right on schedule," said Jack Hill, stadium
construction manager for the Cowboys. "We couldn't ask for a
better project."
Dallas Re-Signs Crayton
Patrick Crayton re-signed with the Cowboys to remain the No. 3 receiver behind Terrell Owens and Terry Glenn.
