Report: Cowboys Fine T.O. For Absences, Tardiness
Terrell Owens has finally pushed the Cowboys too far, drawing a $9,500 fine for missing a team meeting and a rehabilitation session and being late to an offensive meeting, The Dallas Morning News reported Sunday.
"That's our club business. That's going to be accounted for," team owner Jerry Jones told the newspaper.
Cowboys Release QB Drew Henson
Drew Henson was released by the Dallas Cowboys on Thursday, a day after coach Bill Parcells said the quarterback wouldn't be on the roster this season.
Parcells wouldn't elaborate Wednesday when asked if the Cowboys were trying to trade Henson. If that was the case, they weren't able to find any takers.
QB Henson Will Not Make The Cowboys, May Be Traded
Drew Henson won't be on the Dallas Cowboys roster this season, and the team is apparently trying to trade the player who was considered the team's quarterback of the future when he signed three years ago.
"I just didn't see enough," coach Bill Parcells said Wednesday.
Parcells said Henson hadn't been waived, but the coach wouldn't elaborate when asked if the Cowboys were trying to trade the quarterback who started only one game for Dallas.
"I'm really not at liberty to discuss the situation because I'm not privy to that information," Parcells said. "He's not going to be on our roster. That's all you need to know."
Owens Reaggravates Left Hamstring
Terrell Owens reaggravated his left hamstring injury when he returned to practice last week for the Dallas Cowboys.
"It's frustrating, but it's not where I need it to be to play and perform like I need to," Owens said Wednesday. "So at this point, I'm going to be smart about it."
Owens May Undergo A Second MRI
Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said Monday night that receiver Terrell Owens may have another MRI exam taken to see why his hamstring continues to bother him after weeks of treatment.
"Certainly it is sore and he is going to be working to improve that," Jones said during halftime of Dallas' preseason game against the New Orleans Saints. "We will be evaluating it more tomorrow."
T.O. Will Have To Practice More Before Playing
Terrell Owens is going to have to practice more before he plays for Bill Parcells.
After Parcells said Owens wouldn't play in the Dallas Cowboys' second preseason game, the receiver sat out the team's practice late Saturday afternoon. Quarterback Drew Bledsoe said Owens' hamstring tightened up on him.
Adams Fails Physical, Trade Cancelled
Bill Parcells said on Friday that wideout Charlie Adams failed his physical, cancelling the trade that sent him from Denver to the Cowboys on Thursday in exchange for a sixth-round draft pick in 2007.
?He?ll probably be going back to Denver,? the coach said. ?Every trade stipulates that the player has to pass his physical.?
Parcells said the Cowboys continue to be in the market for a veteran receiver. The team?s top two receivers, Terrell Owens and Terry Glenn, are both 32 and have sustained nagging injuries at training camp.
Cowboys Acquire Adams From Broncos
The Cowboys acquired receiver Charlie Adams from the Broncos on Thursday for an undisclosed draft choice.
With Patrick Crayton still out because of a sprained right foot, and Terrell Owens (hamstring) and Terry Glenn (foot blisters) having missed practices this week, coach Bill Parcells wanted to add some depth at receiver.
Emmitt Getting Ready For "Dancing With The Stars"
Emmitt Smith is getting ready for "Dancing With the Stars". And the NFL career rushing leader isn't upset that the receiver who once danced on the star at Texas Stadium is now playing for the Cowboys.
Smith visited the Cowboys' training camp Wednesday during a break from his preparations for his upcoming appearance on the ABC-TV dance competition. He showed up the same day that Terrell Owens was back on the field for the Cowboys after missing 14 straight practices with a hamstring problem
