NFL Draft Headed To Cleveland, Kansas City

May 23, 2019 8:26 AM

The NFL has awarded the 2021 draft to Cleveland and the 2023 draft to Kansas City following an owner's meeting in Key Biscayne, Florida.

The 2020 draft was previously awarded to Las Vegas.

The league was not ready to move on bids for the 2022 draft, saying about 20 cities are interested in hosting that year.

The league said last month that more than 600,000 people attended the draft over the three days in Nashville, eclipsing the 250,000 who attended in Philadelphia.

Browns GM, Coach Attend Kareem Hunt's Baptism

May 20, 2019 8:01 AM

John Dorsey and Freddie Kitchens of the Cleveland Browns attended Kareem Hunt's baptism ceremony Sunday in support of the running back, who is trying to turn his life around.

Hunt's baptism took place at True Vine Baptist Church in Cleveland.

He told reporters last week that he was "looking forward [to the baptism] so I can feel reborn."

Hunt signed with the Browns in February after being cut by the Kansas City Chiefs when a video surfaced of him shoving and kicking a woman at his Cleveland residence in 2018. Because of that altercation, Hunt will miss the first eight games of the 2019 season for violating the NFL's personal conduct policy.

Myles Garrett Excited By 'More Freedom' Under New DC

May 3, 2019 8:22 AM

Myles Garrett is coming off a 13.5-sack season, but he's excited to make more of a difference under new Cleveland Browns defensive coordinator Steve Wilks.

Garrett was largely limited to two moves under previous coordinator Gregg Williams.

"I hopefully have more freedom to be the player I want to be," Garrett said. "Gregg was more like: 'You win with these two moves. I don't want to see anything else out of you.'

"It's kind of hard with two moves. I feel like you can't always be so predictable. You can be as strong or fast as you want, but speed-chop and power move aren't always going to work. You have to mix up what you're doing. Sometimes you have to stutter step, sometimes you have to spin inside, you have to run some games. You have to have some freedom to throw different looks at them, and we didn't always have that."
