T.J. Yeldon Expects 'Heated Competition' Among Bills Running Backs

Jun 27, 2019 8:17 AM

The Buffalo Bills have a deep stable of running backs heading into training camp.

T.J. Yeldon says the team pitched him on a fight for playing time before he signed on as a free agent.

Buffalo also has LeSean McCoy, Frank Gore and Devin Singletary.

"That's a blessing," Yeldon said. "Coming in my first couple years, I didn't have vets like that. Being here in this situation, I can learn a lot from those guys. It's a lot for me to take with me in my future years. It's going to be a heated competition. That's one thing they told me coming in. There's going to be competition regardless."

McCoy said earlier this month that he expects to have the "same role" as a feature back.

LeSean McCoy: 'It's Hard To Replace A Guy Like Me'

Jun 24, 2019 8:12 PM

LeSean McCoy is coming off the worst statistical season of his career, but he's confident he'll bounce back.

"It's hard to replace a guy like me," McCoy said. "I'm a good player and I feel like now, this year, they put a lot of guys around me. The front office got me some big hogs up front. And we'll see what happens this year. I feel good and hopefully this year will speak for itself."

McCoy will turn 31 next month and the Buffalo Bills have added to their backfield this offseason.

"I use age and that type of thing to motivate me," he said. "My whole life I've kind of been the underdog. Is he big enough? Is he tough enough? Can he play in the pros? I feel like guys like myself come around every once in a while and I want to stick to that. I'm up for it."

NFL Wants Bills To Build New Stadium To 'Remain Competitive, Stable'

Jun 3, 2019 11:58 AM

Roger Goodell remains a supporter of a new stadium for the Buffalo Bills despite recent money that has been spent on renovating New Era Field.

“I want to make sure this franchise remains competitive and stable,” Goodell said, via Matthew Fairburn of TheAthletic.com.

Ownership of the Bills have discussed a new stadium that would be a “scaled-down version” of new facilities that have been built in other cities.

While Terry and Kim Pegula haven't brought up relocation as a way to spark support for public money to fund a new stadium, it appears the situation could be moving in that direction.
