Chargers Acquire Cardale Jones From Bills

Jul 26, 2017 8:01 PM

The Los Angeles Chargers have acquired Cardale Jones from the Buffalo Bills for a conditional draft pick in the seventh round.

Jones is familiar with new Chargers head coach Anthony Lynn, as Lynn served as Buffalo's interim head coach at the end of last season.

Behind Rivers, Kellen Clemens has served as the Chargers' backup at QB the past two seasons.

Jones appeared to be fourth on the Bills' depth chart entering camp.

Sammy Watkins Dreams Of NBA-Sized Contracts In NFL

Jul 6, 2017 8:15 AM

Sammy Watkins wants to see NFL players receive bigger paydays after the start of free agency in the NBA resulted in a series of contracts worth more than $100 million.

In May, the Buffalo Bills declined Watkins' fifth-year option for 2018 that would have paid their top receiver $13.3 million. Watkins is now scheduled for unrestricted free agency after the 2017 season.

Watkins also retweeted NFL player promoter Jake Steinberg, who wrote, "NFL players have the right to be pissed. They get the smallest piece of the pie. NFL has $12B in annual revenue; NBA has $5B."
