Ravens Win 16th Straight Preseason Game

Aug 23, 2019 9:19 AM

The Baltimore Ravens have won 16 straight preseason games.

The Ravens topped the Philadelphia Eagles 26-15 in a lightning-shortened game at Lincoln Financial Field on Thursday night.

The winning streak is the longest such streak in the NFL in at least 25 years. The Ravens haven't lost in the preseason since Sept. 3, 2015.

"I don't know how significant it is," John Harbaugh said. "I think it's significant in a sense that I think our coaches do a great job of coaching in training camp. We develop players really well."

Lamar Jackson Has 'Fixed' Ball Security Issues

Aug 21, 2019 8:18 AM

Lamar Jackson fumbled 12 times last season, which led the NFL by a wide margin.

The quarterback fumbled three more times in the Baltimore Ravens' playoff loss to the Los Angeles Chargers.

Jackson told reporters on Tuesday that he's "fixed" the problem and that his only concern for the regular season is winning.

"I think it's been way better. Just watching the practices, you probably saw it," Harbaugh said. "Lamar makes very few mistakes with ball handling right now. The snaps have been much more accurate than they have in the past, so that starts everything off on the right foot. You haven't seen a lot of the more complicated ball-handling plays, but the ones we have run have been well done."

John Harbaugh: Marquise Brown 'Has A Ways To Go'

Aug 20, 2019 8:20 AM

The Baltimore Ravens drafted Marquise Brown in the first round, but John Harbaugh is tempering expectations.

Brown just recently returned to practice after recovering from foot surgery a little over a week ago.

"He basically practiced for the first time in a more aggressive setting, so I saw a guy that was practicing for the first time," Harbaugh said. "He just needs to get accustomed to it. It's all new for him — the speed of it, the thinking, the lining up, running the right route. He has a ways to go with all of that. I'm confident he'll get there, and we'll know what to do to use him, how to use him early in the season. But it's just great work for him."

Vikings Acquire Kicker From Ravens For Draft Pick

Aug 12, 2019 8:24 AM

The Minnesota Vikings have traded an undisclosed draft pick to the Baltimore Ravens in exchange for kicker Kaare Vedvik.

The pick will be a fifth rounder in 2020, according to a source.

Vedvik, a native of Norway, was 12-of-13 on field goals in the preseason the past two years for Baltimore after being signed as an undrafted kicker in 2018.

In Thursday's preseason opener, Vedvik increased his value by making all four of his field goals, including a 55-yarder, and had two punts over 50 yards.

The New York Jets have acquired Alex Lewis from the Baltimore Ravens for a 2020 seventh round pick.

The Ravens planned on releasing Lewis before they found a trade partner in the Jets, who had the No. 3 waiver priority.

Lewis has one year remaining on his contract and is due to make $2 million in 2019.

Lewis will be a backup guard for the Jets.

Ravens Cut OG Alex Lewis After He Passed Physical

Aug 5, 2019 9:50 AM

The Baltimore Ravens have surprisingly cut offensive guard Alex Lewis.

Lewis, a 2016 fourth-round pick who started 10 games, was expected to compete at Baltimore's left guard spot.

He's missed a total of 28 games over three seasons.

Two days after passing his physical, Lewis said he is no longer in the Ravens' plans.

"It has been a memorable three years," Lewis posted on Instagram. "Appreciate all my teammates and coaches I have met along this way. Unfortunately, I was released today. Thank you Baltimore. As one door closes another opens."
