Ravens Expect To Give Patriots 'Run For Their Money'

Oct 31, 2019 8:24 AM

The Baltimore Ravens are underdogs heading into Sunday night's game against the undefeated New England Patriots, but they don't lack confidence.

"We'll see how good they are once we play them," tight end Nick Boyle said. "I don't think they've seen anyone like our offense or like Lamar [Jackson]. They're a good team and we'll need to bring our 'A' game."

The Patriots, who are 8-0, are the only team since 1970 to lead the NFL in points allowed, takeaways and sacks through Week 8.

Jackson is having a historic season as well. He's the only quarterback in NFL history to pass for 1,600 yards and rush for 500 yards through the first seven games of a season.

"We're definitely the type of team that's prepared to play this team and definitely one that's going to give them a run for their money," defensive tackle Brandon Williams said.

Ravens Acquire Marcus Peters From Rams

Oct 15, 2019 8:05 PM

The Los Angeles Rams have traded Marcus Peters to the Baltimore Ravens for linebacker Kenny Young and a draft pick in 2020.

The pick will reportedly be a fifth-rounder.

Peters is in the fifth and final year of his rookie deal.

The trade came one day after the Rams placed Aqib Talib on injured reserve and a few hours before they landed Jalen Ramsey from the Jacksonville Jaguars.

John Harbaugh Would Prefer Lamar Jackson Not Take 'Certain Hits'

Oct 15, 2019 10:08 AM

Lamar Jackson ran the ball 19 times for a career-high 152 yards this past Sunday, but John Harbaugh came away a bit concerned.

Jackson took a fair amount of hits against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Harbaugh said that those hits are "part of the game right now with the way we play" while adding that there were still a couple of shots that he'd prefer to see Jackson avoid.

"I'm impressed with his toughness, there's no question about that. The goal is not probably to take certain hits," Harbaugh said. "There were probably two in them there that I probably would've rather seen him not get hit on, you know? But I think we also have to acknowledge that those are going to happen throughout the course of the year — hopefully less rather than more. You don't want a quarterback — I wouldn't expect him to be running that many times very many times this year; that's just the way it went."
