Eric Weddle Now Open To Playing Elsewhere

Jan 24, 2019 8:18 AM

Eric Weddle is reversing course on his declaration that he'd either play for the Baltimore Ravens in 2019 or retire.

About two weeks after saying he'd retire if the Ravens released him, the safety now says he's open to playing elsewhere.

Weddle, 34, is scheduled to make $6.5 million in 2019, which is the final year of his four-year, $26 million deal.

"I'm not sure if things are going to get worked out with Baltimore. Obviously, I want to be back," Weddle said. "[We'll] see if there's something to be worked out. If not, then I've had an unbelievable experience here and loved every second. So, if it does happen, we both move on, and we'll see if I'll play somewhere else or hang 'em up."

Ravens Hire Greg Roman As Offensive Coordinator

Jan 11, 2019 9:40 AM

The Baltimore Ravens have promoted Greg Roman to offensive coordinator, replacing Marty Mornhinweg.

Mornhinweg's status with the Ravens is unclear as he has been told he can remain with the franchise despite the demotion.

Roman was offensive coordinator for the San Francisco 49ers during the tenure of Jim Harbaugh where they found great success with Colin Kaepernick.

Roman will be in charge of designing an offense tailored to Lamar Jackson.

Joe Flacco: Future With Ravens Not Really Up To Me

Jan 7, 2019 10:22 AM

The future of Joe Flacco with the Baltimore Ravens is uncertain going into the 2019 offseason as he lost his job to Lamar Jackson.

“It’s not really up to me. We’ll see what happens,” said Flacco when asked about his future plans.

“I love the people of Baltimore, man. It’s been 11 years. You come in, you feel one way, and you don’t know what to expect. The people warm up to you. You warm up to the people. To be honest with you, I can’t imagine a better 11 years. This place becoming my home and my children’s home. Just how many different life changes I went through and how much we won here. I’m not from too far up the road. People from here are a lot like the people I grew up with. Definitely a group of fans and a community that I loved to be around for 11 years.”

Flacco said he absolutely wants to go back to being a starter, but he was asked if he was frustrated about not getting an opportunity to play.

“It really wasn’t. We made the decision what was going to happen here weeks ago. I really wanted to see the guys turn it up a little bit and make a play, which they did.”

John Harbaugh Defends Decision To Stick With Lamar Jackson

Jan 7, 2019 10:18 AM

John Harbaugh considered benching Lamar Jackson in favor of Joe Flacco during Sunday's AFC Wild Card game, but defended his decision to stick with the rookie.

The Baltimore Ravens lost 23-17 to the Los Angeles Chargers. Jackson struggled mightily before throwing two touchdowns in the fourth quarter.

Jackson's rally ended with 19 seconds remaining at midfield, where he fumbled for the third time.

"In the end -- talk about the fourth quarter -- Lamar played really well in two-minute," Harbaugh said. "I don't think Joe would have played any better in two-minute. You have to say, based on that part of it [and] at that point in time in the game, it was the right decision."
