Julio Jones Deletes Falcons Pictures From Social Media

Apr 24, 2018 9:09 AM

Julio Jones hasn't joined the Atlanta Falcons for offseason workouts and has deleted Falcons photos from his Instagram page, which has fueled speculation regarding unrest between the two sides.

The wide receiver was not with his teammates when the Falcons officially began offseason workouts last week but was expected back this week. However, he wasn't present on Monday.

The team said the deletion of the Falcons photos had to do with Jones wanting a "fresh start'' on social media and nothing more.

There have been whispers about a possible contract situation regarding Jones, but nothing has gone public from Jones' camp or from the team.

Matt Ryan Describes Extension Talks With Falcons As 'Very Positive'

Apr 9, 2018 4:50 PM

Matt Ryan believes his extension talks with the Atlanta Falcons have been going well.

“I think it’s been good," said Ryan. "Obviously, it’s not something that I get heavily involved in. I feel like my job is to get myself prepared to go out and be successful on the field. I kind of let the business side be handled by the people who are competent at that. Everything is good. I think the discussions have been very positive. I think those will work out.”

Ryan signed a five-year, $103 million extension in 2013.

Matt Ryan, Falcons Close To Agreement On Extension

Apr 3, 2018 9:57 AM

The Atlanta Falcons believe they're close to agreement with Matt Ryan on a contract extension.

“I think we’re close,” Thomas Dimitroff told 680 The Fan in Atlanta on Tuesday.

Dimitroff says “it’s not a complicated process.”

Kirk Cousins set a new mark of $84 million over three years and Ryan will surely aim for that amount. But Cousins hit the open market, which creates a different type of leverage.
