Falcons Will Reduce Turner's Carries

Nov 28, 2014 1:03 PM

The Falcons don?t want to lean as heavily on running back Michael Turner, who ran for 1,741 yards on 394 carries and scored 17 touchdowns in 17 games last season. ?We know that he can?t sustain 370 carries over a number of years,? Smith said. ?We definitely know that we have to reduce the load that we put on him this year.? RealGM Note: This would signal more carries for Jerious Norwood.

Vick Is Ignoring Dan Reeves

Apr 19, 2014 5:12 PM

Dan Reeves has tried to reach out to Michael Vick, but the coach's former quarterback hasn't returned any of his calls. "I've even written, and I've tried to make appointments to see him in prison, but they never got back to me," Reeves told FanHouse. Reeves coached Vick early on in Atlanta and many considered him the young quarterback's mentor. "I don't know if he doesn't want to talk to me because he's embarrassed or what," said Reeves. "I don't know, but I want him to know that I'm on his side. I can't do anything more than I'm trying to do. "If he's looking for somebody to stand up for him and to be a father figure and not try to make a buck like most of the people around him are doing -- you know, I just want to help him. I wish he would call me."

Agent: Abraham Will Be In Camp

Nov 7, 2014 1:37 AM

Defensive end John Abraham will be present when the Falcons begin training camp on Aug. 1, according to his agent. A report surfaced on NFL Network last week that there were "rumblings" that Abraham could holdout. Agent Rich Rosa disputed a report that Abraham was unhappy with his contract, and Atlanta said that they had not been approached by Rosa about re-doing the end's six-year, $45 million contact. "It's a long offseason and they have to stir the pot," Rosa said. "We don't know where that is coming from. There won't be a holdout. He'll be there when camp opens."
