Norwood Could Start For Falcons

Falcons wide receiver Roddy White has suggested to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution that running back Jerious Norwood will start on Sunday against the Eagles. Michael Turner left Sunday's game in the third quarter after reinjuring his right ankle. Turner has 864 yards and 10 touchdowns on 177 carries, while Norwood has just 100 yards on 25 attempts this season.

Turner aggravated a right ankle injury in the third quarter and didn't return to action. Atlanta needed a late score to defeat Tampa Bay.

Falcons running back Michael Turner is expected to play against the Buccaneers on Sunday. He suffered a high ankle sprain just two weeks ago. Turner will test his ankle during warmups, but has shown enough in practice this week that sources expect him to be a part of the action. He has rushed for 831 yards and 10 touchdowns on 165 carries.

Falcons running back Michael Turner suffered a right ankle injury on Sunday against the Panthers. He appeared to roll the ankle when he was tackled at the end of a 10-yard run that gave him 111 yards on just nine carries. "They still have to look it some more," Turner said after Atlanta's loss to Carolina. "They don't even know yet. We've got a long bus ride home."

Falcons head coach Mike Smith and two Redskins have been fined for their part in Sunday's incident between Atlanta and Washington. Smith was fined $15,000 and Redskins cornerback DeAngelo Hall was among those penalized as well. "I received a letter from the NFL office this morning," Smith said. "I want to reiterate that I'm always going to have my players' backs and I'm going to take care of them." Redskins defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth was fined $5,000 for coming to the aid of teammate Hall on Atlanta's sideline, a league source told ESPN's Adam Schefter.
