The Raiders hired former Atlanta offensive coordinator Greg Knapp to fill the same job in Oakland, giving first-year coach Lane Kiffin an experienced coordinator to ease his transition from college to the NFL.
Knapp spent the previous three seasons with the Falcons before being let go when coach Jim Mora was fired after the season and replaced by Bobby Petrino. Knapp ran a West Coast offense in Atlanta that struggled at times to work with quarterback Michael Vick.

Falcons' VP: "Vick Will Not Be Traded"
Michael Vick will not be traded and will be the Falcons' starting quarterback in 2007, the team's ownership said Tuesday.
"There are no plans to trade him or cut him," Kim Shreckengost, executive vice president of operations for Arthur M. Blank Group, told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. "Michael is our quarterback and the leader of our team. We have a new head coach who is anxious to start working with him. Everyone has high expectations of him going into next season. Michael has those too."
Raiders Trying To Grab Vick?
The Atlanta Falcons issued a statement Tuesday afternoon, denying that the team is considering trading Quarterback Michael Vick.
According to a spokeswoman for the Falcons, ?There are no plans to cut or trade Vick. Michael is our quarterback. He has a new head coach who is anxious to start working with him this season. Everyone has high expectations for Michael, including Michael.?
According to published online reports, NFL sources say that the Raiders are trying to put together the trade deal that would send Vick to the Bay Area.
Vick Won't Face Criminal Charges
Falcons quarterback Michael Vick won't face criminal charges after a water bottle was seized by security at Miami International Airport.
Lab tests on the bottle, which police said smelled of marijuana and contained a hidden compartment, found no evidence of drugs, according to a memo Monday by Deisy Rodriguez, an assistant state attorney.

Less than three weeks after being fired as coach of the Falcons, Jim Mora was hired Sunday to be the Seahawks' secondary coach.
Mora, the 45-year-old son of former NFL coach Jim Mora, went 26-22 in three seasons with the Falcons, but was fired Jan. 1 following another second-half collapse and off-field distractions that infuriated team owner Arthur Blank.
Vick's Water Bottle Raises Suspicion At Airport
Michael Vick reluctantly surrendered a water bottle to security at Miami International Airport that contained a residue "closely associated with marijuana," police said Wednesday.
The Falcons' quarterback entered a concourse Wednesday morning at the airport with the 20-ounce bottle. He eventually handed it over and boarded his flight to Atlanta. But his initial reluctance to turn over the bottle aroused suspicion among airport security screeners, a police report said.

Petrino Leaving Louisville For Atlanta
Louisville coach Bobby Petrino agreed Sunday to become the new coach of the Atlanta Falcons, moving to the NFL less than a week after Jim Mora's firing.
Kenny Klein, the sports information director at Louisville, said Petrino was leaving for Atlanta after guiding the Cardinals to a 12-1 season, capped off by a 24-13 victory over Wake Forest on Tuesday night in the Orange Bowl.
