Jun 26, 2014 7:05 AM

Michael Vick practiced without a brace on Wednesday and the Atlanta Falcons are happy to report no negative results. "Yes, I think I will be playing on Sunday. I have to continue to treat my knee and make sure that it is nice and sturdy when I get out there." Coach Jim Mora is excited to see Vick back in uniform. "I've only been here for three games that he hasn't started, and we're 0-3 in them," Mora said.

Quarterback Michael Vick, who did not play in Sunday's 31-28 loss to New England because of a strained right knee, went through running drills on Monday and could undergo further tests on the knee Tuesday, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported. Vick's status for the Falcons' next game against New Orleans in San Antonio on Sunday was not commented on by coach Jim Mora. "I've got to believe Mike will make progress," Mora told the paper. "We'll see if that's enough, in my opinion, to play him."

Vick Unlikley To Start

Sep 25, 2014 3:49 PM

Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Vick is not likely to start Sunday against New England, ESPN's Sal Paolantonio reported. Vick is still listed as questionable with an injured right knee. If Vick is too hurt to play Sunday when Atlanta (3-1) hosts New England (2-2), Matt Schaub will start at quarterback. Vick left last week's win over Minnesota after Vikings rookie defensive end Erasmus James fell on him in the second quarter and sprained the two-time Pro Bowl selection's medial collateral ligament. "I want to see the look in his eye and how he moves before I made a final decision," coach Jim Mora told ESPN's Sal Paolantonio on Saturday.

Vick's MRI Comes Back Negative

Sep 25, 2014 3:49 PM

A Monday morning MRI examination revealed no structural damage to the sprained right knee of Michael Vick, and the Atlanta Falcons quarterback is expected to start in next Sunday's home game against the New England Patriots. Two sources, one from the team and another close to Vick, confirmed the MRI results for ESPN.com. One source said the MRI was negative while another termed it "clean." The Falcons announced the results Monday afternoon. Vick may experience some soreness in the sprained knee for a few days, but should be able to practice as the 3-1 Falcons prepare to face the defending Super Bowl champions at the Georgia Dome.

A Damaged Vick

Nov 27, 2014 4:07 PM

Falcons quarterback Michael Vick strained his medial collateral ligament in his right knee in the second quarter of Sunday's game against the Minnesota Vikings and did not return to the game, an eventual 30-10 Falcons win. Vick was hurt when he rolled right to throw and got hit hard by Minnesota's Erasmus James just after delivering an incomplete pass. The 266-pound James fell on top of the quarterback as they tumbled to the turf. Vick grabbed at his shin and remained down for several minutes, the Georgia Dome fans gasping when they realized who was injured. The two-time Pro Bowl player was surrounded by three trainers and coach Jim Mora.
