The Arizona Cardinals have placed Hakeem Butler on injured reserve.

The rookie fractured his hand during the team's second preseason game and is done for the season.

The Arizona Cardinals have agreed to terms on a one-year contract with Michael Crabtree.

Crabtree had a work out with the Cardinals more than two weeks ago.

The addition came hours after they released Kevin White.

"Mike is a guy who I've known a long time and had a ton of success in this league," Kliff Kingsbury said Aug. 6, the day after Crabtree worked out for Arizona.

"He's a talented player."

The Arizona Cardinals made the bold decision to draft Kyler Murray with the first overall pick one year after taking Josh Rosen at No. 10.

“Taking this guy no. 1, I took a lot of grief for that,” Steve Keim said. “You have to make the tough decisions and avoid the outside noise— ‘Why’d you give up on this guy? Why would you trade this guy?’ … It’s unprecedented. I took [Rosen] in the top 10. I just felt that [Murray] was a generational talent that I just couldn’t pass up.”

Murray was already familiar with the ethos and mechanics of Kliff Kingsbury's system.

“To be able to process so many things at once and look at the defense and execute the play, it’s a lot,” Kingsbury said. “All he’s done his entire life is no-huddle spread stuff. So he feels really confident in that.”

Kyler Murray still believes the Arizona Cardinals will be ready for Week 1 against the Detroit Lions despite the fact that he won't run the team's offensive scheme in its entirety during the preseason.

The rookie says he's been running a version of the system since eighth grade.

"I know it'll work against teams," Murray said. "It's hard to prepare for what we will do when the season comes."

Arizona Cardinals executive vice president and chief operating officer Ron Minegar was arrested on a DUI citation late Saturday.

Minegar, 60, was pulled over at 11:30 p.m. Saturday for "speeding, failure to drive within one lane of traffic and driving within the bicycle lane."

He was subsequently arrested on suspicion of DUI, cited and released.

"Ron Minegar's actions last night are inexcusable," the team said in a statement. "He made the decision to drive after drinking alcohol and is fortunate that he was pulled over before injuring anyone or himself.

"According to MADD, drunk driving results in almost 11,000 deaths per year and is the number one cause of fatalities on roadways. We fully recognize the seriousness of these actions and they will have serious consequences."

Kyler Murray played just one drive for the Arizona Cardinals on Thursday night and impressed.

The first overall pick completed 6-of-7 attempts for 44 yards on the night.

Arizona's drive began on their own 2-yard line. Murray's only incompletion came when a receiver stepped out of bounds for a penalty on the catch, which by league rule is deemed an incompletion.

"I thought it was smooth," Murray said. "I was anxious to get out there, move around and throw it a little bit. I really just tried to execute whatever coach called, and I think we did that for the most part."

Michael Crabtree and the Arizona Cardinals were unable to agree to a contract following a workout on Monday.

Crabtree played for the Baltimore Ravens last season and remains a free agent.
