Antonio Brown isn't "angry" with the Pittsburgh Steelers, but he has maintained his desire to be traded.
Brown is officially on the trading block after meeting with Steelers brass earlier this month in South Florida.
Both parties agreed that it's best to work on a trade, though Kevin Colbert made it clear that the team wants "significant compensation."
The New York Jets have interest in trading down from the No. 3 overall pick.
"Right now, we feel good at No. 3, but I'd definitely say if there's an opportunity to trade down, we would absolutely look at it," said Mike Maccagnan.
The Jets traded up from No. 6 to No. 3 last year to select Sam Darnold. New York sent three second round picks to the Indianapolis Colts in the deal. The Jets hope to find a similar trade.
"Yeah, I think I would be open to any team that would," he said, when asked specifically about the Giants. "As long as the trade made sense to us, there's nothing that would stop us from doing that."
The New York Giants expect Eli Manning to remain with the franchise in 2019.
"Well, I think Eli can help us win games, and he proved when the players around him started playing better that he can play at a very high level and help us win games, so at this point I want Eli back," Pat Shurmur said from Indianapolis. "He's back."
Asked specifically if he expects Manning to be on the team in 2019, Shurmur said, "I fully expect him [back].
"[General manager] Dave [Gettleman] will tell you I'm a body collector. I want to keep all the players we have and add new ones. I really feel that way about Eli," he said.
Manning's cap hit for next season is $23.2 million.
The Arizona Cardinals used a first round pick on Josh Rosen last offseason, but they may not be entirely committed to him long-term.
“Is Josh Rosen our quarterback?” GM Steve Keim told reporters. “Yeah, he is right now. For sure.”
Kliff Kingsbury is on record of saying he would use Kyler Murray with the first overall pick. But since being hired by the Cardinals, Kingsbury has tried to walk back the comments.
The Cardinals own the first overall pick.
The Pittsburgh Steelers have received increase interest from rival teams in trading for Antonio Brown.
“Interest has grown,” said Kevin Colbert.
The Steelers and Brown have mutually decided to pursue a trade this offseason.
“Ideally, you’ll like to trade him to someone you’d never play," said Colbert. "But if a team comes through with the best compensation you have to weigh that.”
The Cincinnati Bengals are shopping John Ross after just two seasons, according to sources.
Ross was the ninth overall pick in 2017. He set the combine ablaze with a 4.22 40-yard dash time.
He's played in just 13 games over two years, totaling 21 catches for 210 yards and seven touchdowns.
The Pittsburgh Steelers would prefer to trade Antonio Brown to a team in the NFC.
The Steelers also consider the New England Patriots and their three AFC North rivals as no-trade zones.
Teams have often looked to trade players outside their own conference.
The Denver Broncos' decision to trade for Joe Flacco came as a surprise to Case Keenum.
Keenum signed a two-year, $36 million deal with the Broncos last offseason.
"[Broncos general manager John] Elway called me that morning and we had a great conversation, which he didn't have to do, and I appreciated that," said Keenum, who, along with his wife, Kimberly, was a guest on Jason Romano's Sports Spectrum podcast.
"I was definitely shocked. It was a surprise for us; you know, I think probably for the first day or so that's kind of what it was. You know, for us, we're definitely disappointed. It's not something we wanted to happen. I know that everybody's doing their job and John feels like that was a chance for him to help the Broncos out.''
Antonio Brown met with Art Rooney II on Tuesday to discuss his future with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Brown tweeted that both sides "agreed that it is time to move on."
The meeting was cordial and "everyone agreed the trade will be for the best," according to a source.
Brown first requested a trade in late January.
"They have the ability to talk to other teams right now and find the best deal for them," agent Drew Rosenhaus told ESPN. "We hope they get a great amount of compensation. We want everybody to win here. it would be great for the Steelers to get what they deem fair compensation for Antonio, and for Antonio to find a new team at this point. And we reap all the positives from that. So that is where it is."
