Seahawks Open To Trading Aaron Curry

Jun 11, 2014 2:44 PM

The Seahawks are willing to listen to offers for linebacker Aaron Curry, according to a league source. Seattle drafted Curry with the fourth overall pick in 2009, but he has disappointed. He restructured his contract prior to the season, which could make a trade easier.

Lance Briggs Defends Trade Request

Sep 9, 2014 8:21 PM

Bears linebacker Lance Briggs defended his decision to seek a trade if the organization continues to refuse to renegotiate his contract. Briggs has three years remaining on a six year, $36 million extension signed three years ago. "The main ingredient here, based off my decision, is to get something," Briggs said. "To have management even be willing to talk. Whether it be, let's deal with it at the end of the year, let's deal with it after the season, then I have something to work with. But when the organization or management says we're not talking now, we're not talking ever, that puts me in a position where I know my days are numbered." The six-time Pro Bowl weakside linebacker is scheduled to earn a base salary of $3.65 million in 2011, a sharp decrease from what he made last year.

Briggs Formally Requests Trade

Jun 24, 2014 7:51 AM

Drew Rosenhaus, the agent for Bears linebacker Lance Briggs, has formally requested a trade. "The Bears made their decision, now I have to make mine," Briggs said. "It's just how the business works. It's not going to take away from what I do on the field. I'm 100 percent a Bear, until I'm not a Bear anymore." The six-time Pro Bowl selection recently approached the Bears about a raise, but upper management has not budged.
