Titans Want To Trade Young

May 17, 2014 5:14 AM

The Titans would prefer to trade Vince Young rather than release him, according to league sources. Young is due a $4.25 million roster bonus 10 days after the start of the league year, whenever there's a new collective bargaining agreement. It originally had been thought Young was due the bonus March 10. The Titans can release Young starting Feb. 7, but they do not have plans to do that now.

Eagles Will Listen To Offers For Kolb

Oct 29, 2014 4:35 AM

The Eagles are expected to entertain offers for Kevin Kolb, who should generate significant interest this offseason. Kolb is under contract for 2011 at the cap-friendly price of $1.4 million, making him an even more desirable commodity. A number of teams coveted Kolb last offseason, but the Eagles went into the 2010 season with him as their starting quarterback. Kolb said after the season that he wants "to be starting somewhere" in 2011.

Rams Still Looking For Backup To Jackson

Oct 2, 2014 11:02 PM

The Rams continue to search for a capable backup to starting running back Stephen Jackson. "Isn't it amazing?" St. Louis general manager Billy Devaney said earlier this month. "We've had the toughest luck filling that. We'd like a game-changer there. Or a change-of-pace back." The Rams were happy with Kenneth Darby, but they'll keep their eyes open. "I thought Darby did a really good job," Devaney said. "But any time that you can add a third-down back type of guy, change-of-pace, who can score from way out. Absolutely. That hasn't changed."

Titans Will Still Cut Or Trade Young

May 20, 2014 2:50 AM

Despite the departure of coach Jeff Fisher, the Titans still plan to either cut or trade quarterback Vince Young. Some assumed the absence of Fisher would led to Tennessee keeping Young as it was assumed to be coach vs. quarterback heading into the offseason. Titans general manager Mike Reinfeldt said he plans to stick with the previously announced intention regarding Young. "I think our Vince Young decision is the same," Reinfeldt said. "We're going to go in a different direction, and at some point we'll either try to trade or release Vince."

He didn't finger anyone or anything." Palmer will contemplate retirement if the Bengals do not trade him, sources told ESPN.com's Chris Mortensen.

Vince Young To End Up In Minnesota?

Sep 12, 2014 10:52 AM

Vince Young won't return to the Titans next season, whether he's traded or released, but where will he end up? Brett Favre appears to finally be done in Minnesota and Tarvaris Jackson is not under contract for next season. In addition, the Vikings don't consider rookie Joe Webb to be their quarterback of the future. "If I had one team I could honestly sit here and say right now I could see him fitting into, I'd say it's the Minnesota Vikings," said ESPN's Darren Woodson, a former NFL safety. "They've got a strong running game in Adrian Peterson and they still feel like they've got a good defense. You've got (Leslie) Frazier as the new head coach, maybe someone that can mentor (Young). "I would say the Vikings are a good fit because I don't think he's a guy you can toss into a system right now and expect to throw the ball all over the field and make plays for you."

Sep 12, 2014 4:09 PM

John Elway took to his Twitter page on Saturday to deny speculation that the Broncos would trade Tim Tebow. The speculation started when Sports Illustrated's Peter King implied on NBC that Elway might trade Tebow to the team that hires former Broncos coach Josh McDaniels as offensive coordinator. Elway was recent hired as Denver's vice president of football operations. In response to King's report, Elway tweeted: "To clarify my thoughts on Tim Tebow... I think he's a very good football player, and if anyone can turn themselves into a great QB, Tim can."
