Adam Schefter of ESPN believes that the Chiefs would gladly listen to offers for receiver Dwayne Bowe. In a chat with readers, Schefter wrote: "... If a team out there made a good offer for Bowe, he would be gone tomorrow. Like I said, outside of [Matt] Cassel and [Tyson] Jackson, there's no Chief who can't be had for the right price. New regimes like their own players; this is not something new to Haley and Scott Pioli. This is a universal truth."

Daunte Culpepper is no doubt disappointed by Detroit's decision to name rookie Matt Stafford their starting quarterback. Lions coach Jim Schwartz claims that Culpepper is back to the top of his game, perhaps trying to inflate his value. "I want to say this: Daunte Culpepper is back," Schwartz told the Detroit Free-Press. "There's no doubt in my mind -- I don't think there's any doubt around the league. He's gonna be back as a starting quarterback at some time in this league." When asked if the Lions would consider trading Culpepper, who is scheduled to make $4 million in salary and bonus money, Schwartz deflected rumors, saying: "We're very happy with where we are quarterback-wise. I think (quarterback) is going to be a strength on our team, and I don't think we're in a position of getting rid of good players."

The Jets have shifted their attention away from wide receiver Brandon Marshall, league sources told the New York Daily News. The team has shown interest in Marshall for several weeks, and trade rumors picked up on Sunday when the Jets acquired quarterback Kevin O'Connell from the Lions. Denver coach Josh McDaniels is familiar with O'Connell from their time together in New England and their stable of quarterbacks are having health issues.

It has been reported that the Seahawks are looking to trade wide receiver Deion Branch. Branch, who was rumored to be a possible cut, remains on Seattle's roster. The Chiefs could be a possible destination for Branch, according to ESPN.com's Bill Williamson.

A.J. Feeley and Reggie Brown survived cuts in Philadelphia, but both have been placed on the trading block. The Philadelphia Inquirer is reporting that the pair were involved in trade talks as the Eagles worked to trim their roster to 53 players.

The Eagles gave Kevin Kolb a significant amount of playing time on Thursday night and he produced. Kolb went 8-for-16 with 110 yards and a touchdown. He connected with Tony Curtis for a 12-yard score late in the second quarter. The backup quarterback looked solid, and better as a traditional quarterback than Michael Vick did against the Jets. Matt Mosley of ESPN.com wrote after the game that Philadelphia may have been showcasing Kolb.

Rumors swirled on Wednesday morning that the Giants were in Denver to make a play for Brandon Marshall. Pictures were posted on the internet of a plane with a Giants logo landing in Denver on Tuesday night. The Star Ledger is reporting that the team wasn't in Denver to meet with the Broncos about Marshall. A team spokesman added that the team doesn't own a private plane. There is a plane owned by the Tisch family, though it's unclear if it's marked with the team's logo.

The Vikings have called teams to gauge what they could get in return for Tarvaris Jackson, according to a league source. Minnesota currently has four quarterbacks on their roster, which needs to be trimmed to 53 players by Saturday. Coach Brad Childress has said that the team could keep all four, but it appears unlikely. Jackson has been mentioned in trade rumors ever since the Vikings signed Brett Favre last month. "You never know with this business, period," Jackson told the Star Tribune. "I just take it as it is. Whatever happens, happens. I can't control it. I just try and get better, that's it. I can't worry about [whether he gets traded or released]. I'm not worried about it because I can't control it. Whatever is going to happen is going to happen whether I worry or not."

If the Broncos trade Brandon Marshall to the Jets, they want linebacker David Harris involved in the deal, according to sources. There have been no indications that New York will trade Harris, who led the team in tackles back in 2007. Denver is reportedly looking for an impact player and a future draft pick in any deal for the suspended wide receiver.

The Broncos are monitoring comments made by the Jets about suspended receiver Brandon Marshall. Sources told ESPN on Wednesday that Denver believes that New York may be tampering with the receiver. The Broncos suspended Marshall through Sept. 5 for "detrimental" conduct last week "There is no discussions whatsoever taking place between the Denver Broncos and any team in the National Football League regarding Brandon Marshall," coach Josh McDaniels told the Denver Post. "We're looking forward to having Brandon back on the 6th of September and starting our [season-opening] preparation with him."
