Dallas Isn't Interested In Vick

Sep 4, 2014 1:15 PM

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said on Thursday that he isn't interested in obtaining quarterback Michael Vick. "Romo's our guy," Jones said of Tony Romo just a day after Vick was released from federal prison. Vick could face more punishment from the NFL, and he remains under contract with the Falcons. Atlanta owner Arthur Black has said that Vick will not play for the team. "I think on a league level as well as any club that does step up and answer that, that's their decision," Jones said of someone giving Vick a second chance. "I just have to worry about the Cowboys."

Cowboys Mull Trading Or Releasing Ellis

Sep 4, 2014 1:16 PM

The Cowboys are reportedly thinking about either trading or releasing veteran linebacker Greg Ellis. Ellis did not take part in Thursday's organized team activity workout. "He's looking forward to being a Dallas Cowboy," Ellis' agent, James Williams, said. "Now, if that's going to happen, we don't know. That's not in our control." The Cowboys would free up more than $5 million in cap room with a trade. If they cut Ellis, they would save $4.15 million in 2009.

"We remain cautiously optimistic that they'll make a good-faith effort to address this," Cribbs' agent, J.R. Rickert, said Wednesday. "We haven't seen it yet, but we are ready to discuss this in a reasonable manner. "And more importantly, Joshua is anxious to join his teammates once they do so." A source said Cribbs will ask for a trade if the Browns won't redo his contract.
