Reports: Broncos Entertained Trading Cutler

Sep 14, 2014 10:48 PM

Multiple reports have revealed that the Broncos have entertained the idea of trading quarterback Jay Cutler. The Buccaneers and Broncos were reportedly trying to swing a three-team deal that would have sent Matt Cassel from New England to Denver and Cutler from Denver to Tampa Bay, with the Patriots receiving some sort of compensation. The Lions also reportedly inquired about Cutler. "I've heard the rumors," Cutler told Vic Lombardi of CBS in Denver. "I know what they're trying to do. Even though I love Denver and I'd love to remain a Bronco, I know how this business works. If they want me to play somewhere else, so be it."

Jets Will Acquire Lito Sheppard Via Trade

May 30, 2014 7:24 AM

The Eagles on Saturday are expected to complete a trade which will send Lito Sheppard to the New York Jets for a package of draft picks. Sources from both clubs on Friday night confirmed the trade. Although details of the deal were not available, the Eagles are believed to be receiving a middle-round choice in the 2010 draft and conditional 2011 draft choice. The level of the 2011 choice will be determined by a number of factors including Sheppard's 2009 playing time. Sheppard, 27, is a two-time Pro Bowl defender.

Ken Lucaks Kills Trade To Detroit

May 16, 2014 8:01 PM

The Panthers tried trading cornerback Ken Lucas to the Detroit Lions. Once the two sides were engaged in discussions, Lucas let it be known that he did not and would not play in Detroit. Thus, trade talks were abandoned even though some in the league thought the trade might go through. The talks are an indication of what Carolina has in mind for Lucas, who is scheduled to make $5.6 million in base salary this season. If Carolina cuts Lucas this week, it will free up $2.375 million against its salary cap.

Nothing Fitzgerald Can Do To Keep Boldin In Arizona?

May 12, 2014 5:40 AM

Cardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald has said that he'd take a pay cut if it would help keep Anquan Boldin in Arizona, but that might not be enough. Fitzgerald could help the team clear up some cap space, but little else. A trade of Boldin remains a likely scenario, with his agent, Drew Rosenhaus, doing everything in his power to make a deal a reality.

Should Bears Consider Dealing Urlacher For Boldin?

Jun 6, 2014 8:40 PM

David Haugh of the Chicago Tribune believes that the Bears should entertain the idea of trading linebacker Brian Urlacher to the Cardinals for receiver Anquan Boldin. The Bears are a team that values their high draft picks, so in order to land a player of Boldin's caliber, they'd need to trade an multi-time Pro Bowler like Urlacher.
