DeAndre Hopkins Agrees To Record Extension With Texans

DeAndre Hopkins has agreed to a five-year extension with the Houston Texans worth $81 million. The deal includes $49 million in guaranteed money, which the largest single guarantee for any wide receiver in NFL history.

Hopkins was a Pro Bowler and Second-team All-Pro in 2015. Hopkins caught 111 balls for 1,521 yards and 11 touchdowns in 2015. Last season, Hopkins caught 78 balls for 954 yards and four touchdowns.

Hopkins held out for a new contract last year.

Joe Haden Agrees Upon Three-Year, $27M Deal With Steelers

Joe Haden has agreed upon a three-year, $27 million deal with the Pittsburgh Steelers. Haden will receive $7 million in Year 1 guaranteed.

Haden had better financial offers from other teams.

Haden was released on Wednesday by the Cleveland Browns.

Haden last made a Pro Bowl in 2014.

Matthew Stafford Agrees To Five-Year, $135M Extension With Lions

Matthew Stafford has agreed upon a five-year contract extension worth $135 million with the Detroit Lions to become the highest paid player in NFL history.

The deal puts Stafford ahead of the $25 million annually earned by Derek Carr.

Stafford made $110,778,969 in his first eight seasons with the Lions, according to Spotrac, and was due another $16.5 million in cash for this season before signing the extension. 

Stafford has already become a top-50 quarterback, statistically, in NFL history, ranking No. 39 in completions, No. 47 in attempts, No. 44 in yards, No. 49 in touchdowns and No. 23 in passer rating.

Charles Leno Jr. Signs Four-Year, $38M Extension With Bears

Charles Leno Jr. has agreed upon a four-year, $38 million contract extension with the Chicago Bears.

Leno's deal with the Bears includes $21.5 million in guarantees.

"I think he's played good, solid football," John Fox recently said of Leno. "I think as a football team we all have to get better. But he's been a dependable guy. He's pretty reliable and dependable."

Leno took over the Bears' left tackle position in 2015.

Maualuga, 30, played eight years for the Bengals, including two seasons with current Miami defensive coordinator Matt Burke. 

The Dolphins are hurting at middle linebacker after losing second-round pick and potential starter Raekwon McMillan (knee) for the season in Miami's first exhibition game.

Thomas Davis, Panthers Agree Upon Extension Through 2018

The Carolina Panthers have signed Thomas Davis to a one-year extension through 2018.

The deal is worth $6.75 million -- with $2 million guaranteed in 2017 and $3 million guaranteed total.

Davis, 34, will now almost certainly finish his career with the Panthers.

"Everybody knows how I feel about being a Carolina Panther," Davis said in a statement as the team left for two days of joint practices with the Tennessee Titans in Nashville. "This extension solidifies me being here for the rest of my career, and I'm excited about that.

"Now it's totally focused on winning a Super Bowl."

Davis is Carolina's all-time leading tackler with 1,086 in 149 regular-season games, including 131 starts.

Ravens Sign Thad Lewis

The Baltimore Ravens have signed Thad Lewis.

The Ravens have been shuffling quarterbacks all summer behind Ryan Mallett, who is filling in for the injured Joe Flacco.

Lewis is the latest quarterback signed by the Ravens since they began to consider Colin Kaepernick.

Lewis has played for seven teams over the past seven seasons, compiling a 2-4 record as a starter.

Devonta Freeman Agrees To $41.25M Extension With Falcons

Devonta Freeman has agreed upon a five-year extension with the Atlanta Falcons worth $41.25 million and includes a $15 million signing bonus.

In terms of average per year, Freeman's $8.25 average would exceed any current running back with multi-year deals. Buffalo's LeSean McCoy would now be second at $8.010 million, followed by Tampa Bay's Doug Martin at $7.15 million. Pittsburgh's Le'Veon Bell with make $12.12 million this year under the one-year franchise tag.

"We are very pleased that we were able to get this extension done," Thomas Dimitroff said. "Devonta embodies everything we are looking for in a Falcon, and we are proud that he'll be able to spend his career here in Atlanta."

Freeman has amassed 3,175 yards from scrimmage and 27 touchdowns over the last two seasons.

Anquan Boldin Agrees Upon One-Year, $2.75M Deal With Bills

Anquan Boldin has agreed upon a one-year, $2.75 million deal with the Buffalo Bills. Boldin's deal also includes incentives that could add $1.25 million on the deal.

Boldin agreed to terms last week but backed out of the deal before deciding to join the Bills this week.

Boldin is expected to compete for the role of No. 2 wide receiver opposite Sammy Watkins.

Boldin has experience with Bills quarterback Tyrod Taylor, having played for the Baltimore Ravens in 2011 and 2012, when Taylor was a backup.
