Tom Brady Signs Extension With Patriots Through 2019

Mar 1, 2016 12:04 PM

Tom Brady and the New England Patriots have agreed to a two-year contract extension through the 2019 season.

Brady had two years left on his contract, paying him $9 million in 2016 and $10 million in 2017. Brady's salary-cap charge for 2016 was scheduled to be a team-high $15 million, and the extension will likely lower that number.

Brady turns 39 in August, and the new deal gives him the chance to play into his 40s, something he has expressed an interest in doing.

Raiders Re-Sign Nate Allen Two Days After Release

Feb 12, 2016 1:29 PM

The Oakland Raiders have re-signed Nate Allen two days after cutting him.

Allen, who signed a four-year, $23 million free-agent contract last spring, would have been guaranteed a $4.9 million salary for the 2016 season if he were still on the Raiders roster on Wednesday.

Originally a second-round draft pick of the Philadelphia Eagles out of South Florida in 2010, Allen appeared in just five games last season, starting three, after tearing an MCL in the first quarter of the Raiders' season-opening loss to the Cincinnati Bengals.
