David Fluellen Finalizing One-Year Deal With Titans

David Fluellen is finalizing a one-year contract with the Tennessee Titans, a source tells RealGM.

Fluellen is a running back out of Toledo, who went undrafted in 2014.

Fluellen initially signed with the Indianapolis Colts and then was traded to the Philadelphia Eagles last summer. Fluellen has since had workouts with the New England Patriots and San Francisco 49ers.

The Titans also released Shonn Greene on Tuesday.

Matt Flynn Signs With Patriots

The New England Patriots have signed Matt Flynn.

If Tom Brady is going to miss games in September under suspension, Flynn would provide a veteran backup option for Jimmy Garoppolo.

Flynn started four games for the Green Bay Packers in 2013. 

Flynn went 24-for-37 for 251 yards and three touchdowns against New England in Week 15 of the 2011 season.

Tarvaris Jackson Agrees To Re-Sign With Seahawks

The Seattle Seahawks have agreed to re-sign Tarvaris Jackson.

Jackson spent the past two seasons in Seattle as the trusted backup to starter Russell Wilson.

Jackson also started 14 games for coach Pete Carroll in 2011 after spending his first five seasons with the Minnesota Vikings.

Bears Sign Tracy Porter

The Chicago Bears have signed Tracy Porter to a one-year contract.

Porer has played seven seasons with the New Orleans Saints, Denver Broncos, Oakland Raiders and Washington.

Porter owns the iconic moment of Super Bowl XLIV for his interception of Peyton Manning returned for a game-sealing touchdown in the New Orleans Saints' victory.

Cam Newton Signs $103.8M Extension With Panthers

The Carolina Panthers and Cam Newton have agreed upon a five-year, $103.8 million extension.

The extension features $60 million guaranteed and will earn Newton $67.6 million in the first three years, according to the source. The deal further breaks down to a $22.5 million signing bonus, a $7.5 million roster bonus due Saturday, and a $1 million base salary this season which all totals to $31 million for this season, the source said.

 

Newton will be the highest paid player in the NFL in 2015 barring an extension for Russell Wilson or Andrew Luck.
