Chargers Agree To Terms With Veteran OT Shelton

Oct 29, 2014 7:48 PM

The Chargers made a move to bolster their offensive line Tuesday as they agreed to terms with tackle L.J. Shelton on a two-year deal. ?We had the opportunity to add an experienced, good player to the mix at offensive tackle,? General Manager A.J. Smith said. ?L.J. has played both left and right tackle during his career. We were thin at the position and we were determined to find a talented player. We believe we?ve addressed the need with L.J. Shelton.? Shelton, 6-6, 345, who enters his 10th NFL season in 2008, brings a wealth of experience and versatility to San Diego. He?s played in 130 games and started 125 during his career. In 2007 with the Miami Dolphins, he started all 16 games at right tackle. A year earlier, he started five games at left tackle before moving inside to right guard for the final 11 games.

Panthers Add Depth With DT Walker

Dec 10, 2014 7:59 PM

The Carolina Panthers added some depth on Monday by signing free agent defensive tackle Darwin Walker, according to the Associated Press. The two parties agreed to terms on a one-year deal after Walker was let go by the Bears in February. "He had an injury-riddled year last year with Chicago, which he was very disappointed in because it cost him millions of dollars not having his option picked up," his agent Al Irby said. "Darwin didn't want to go out like that. So he's been down in Miami, working very, very hard. He's bound and determined to redeem himself after last year."

Titans, Roos Agree On 6-Year, $43M Deal

Oct 29, 2014 7:48 PM

The Titans and left tackle Michael Roos have agreed to terms on a six-year, $43 million contract extension, according to the Tennessean. Roos will become the NFL's third-highest-paid tackle with the deal. "He is a low-key guy, and it takes an awful lot to get him excited, but he is smiling," his agent Cameron Foster said. "The beauty of this is I didn't have to twist any arms to make the Titans realize his value. They were pretty much fair out of the blocks, and this contract makes Michael the third-highest-paid tackle, behind Orlando Pace (Rams) and Walter Jones (Seahawks)."
