Johnny Manziel was compared to a point guard in basketball by one NFL general manager.
“He sets the tempo. He makes everyone play fast,” said the GM.
Manziel will almost certainly be one of the top quarterbacks selected in the 2014 NFL Draft.

A.J. McCarron has been told by teams that his draft range is somewhere between 16 and 35.
"They felt like I could go anywhere from 16-35," McCarron said. "I believe that, too. At the same time, I don't have my hopes set on anything. Whatever happens, happens. It's a blessing for me to even be in this situation."
McCarron realizes teams often put out misinformation.
"It's not like the GMs are calling these guys and telling them, 'Hey, we're going to draft this guy at this number so go ahead and put that out there,'" McCarron said. "One thing I've learned about this whole process, it's nothing but a big secret.
"A lot of times teams will bring in a guy just to bluff another team and make it seem like toward the media that they like this guy and really they have no interest at all in drafting him."
The Detroit Lions are meeting with Marqise Lee, the seventh team to meet with the USC receiver.
The Lions own the highest pick at No. 10 that Lee has met with.
Lee also has visited with the Baltimore Ravens (17th pick), New York Jets (18th pick), Miami Dolphins (19th pick), New Orleans Saints (27th pick), Carolina Panthers (28th pick) and New England Patriots (29th pick).
The Atlanta Falcons appear increasingly less likely to remain at No. 6 in the 2014 NFL Draft.
The Falcons are considering the possibility of moving all the way up to No. 1 to draft Jadeveon Clowney.
Talks between the Falcons and Houston Texans have not begun, however.
The Falcons could also consider moving down since the top-10 is considered strong.
The Green Bay Packers have an NFL-leading 33 players they drafted currently on their roster, more than twice that of the Chicago Bears (15) and nearly twice the Jacksonville Jaguars (17) and Tampa Bay Buccaneers (17).
The Atlanta Falcons, San Francisco 49ers, Baltimore Ravens and Cincinnati Bengals are tied for second with 30 original draft picks apiece.
Zach Mettenberger will conduct a private workout for the Tennessee Titans.
Mettenberger tore his ACL on Nov. 29.
During his pro day on April 10, Mettenberger threw nearly 125 passes and made every throw while wearing a helmet and shoulder pads.
Jadeveon Clowney visited with the Atlanta Falcons on Wednesday and will run drills for the team on Friday.
The source said it is "not really a workout," however.
The Falcons own the sixth overall pick, but they could trade up as they did in 2011 for Julio Jones.
Thomas Dimitroff spoke highly of Clowney back in February.
"Obviously, he is an incredible talent with wild upside," Dimitroff said. "He's going to be a very big contributor on a football team from day one. We all know that. The league knows that. He has the potential to be one of the marquee-type pass-rushers."
Victor Cruz hopes the New York Giants draft an outside receiver.
Cruz became a big-play receiver out of the slot when Hakeem Nicks was the bigger threat outside.
“A [big-play receiver] is something we need in this offense to be successful,” Cruz said. “An outside guy that can do the job and that can help fuel all the other receivers in the locker room and put some fire up under them to get them where they have to be.”
Cruz said Mike Evans of Texas A&M could be the type of receiver the Giants need. The Giants select 12th overall and there's a good chance Evans is already off the board by then.
Andrew Luck has been widely considered the most highly regarded player to come through the NFL Draft since Peyton Manning, but at least one NFL personnel director has Jadeveon Clowney ahead of him.
Opinions on Clowney have been greatly divisive, as many have doubts on whether he will fulfill his potential as an elite pass rusher.
The Dallas Cowboys will consider taking Johnny Manziel with the 16th overall pick.
"Jerry Jones was raving about (Manziel) this weekend in front of (Tony) Romo," reports Werder.
