Jaworski Wouldn't Select Manziel In First Three Rounds

Jun 15, 2014 4:34 AM

Johnny Manziel is widely expected to become one of the top picks at quarterback in the 2014 NFL Draft and he could even go as high as first overall.

But Ron Jaworski is skeptical of Manziel's ability in the NFL. Based on Jaworski's studies of Manziel, he wouldn't select him in any of the first three rounds.

Muema Leaves Combine Due To Message From God

Sep 30, 2014 11:34 PM

Adam Muema left the NFL scouting combine on Sunday due to a message he claims to have received from God.

Muema said God told him he would play for the Seattle Seahawks -- his "dream" -- if he skipped the combine.

"[God] told me to sit down, be quiet, and enjoy the peace," Muema told the Union-Tribune.

Muema is ranked as the 24th best running back in the draft by ESPN.

Muema ran for 1,244 yards and 15 touchdowns last season at San Diego State and declared for the draft after his junior season.

Dee Ford Insists He's Better Prospect Than Clowney

Sep 30, 2014 11:29 PM

Dee Ford recorded 10.5 sacks last season for Auburn and insisted that he is a better prospect than Jadeveon Clowney.

"I'm better [than Clowney]," Ford, also a pass-rushing draft prospect, said during the interview. "Let's put it like this. People like to talk about size all the time. Size is pretty much overrated in my eyes.

"You can look at guys like Robert Mathis, Elvis Dumervil, Von Miller. These are 6-2 guys and under. People are just looking at the fact that [Clowney] is a physical specimen. Honestly if you watch the film, he plays like a blind dog in a meat market basically."

Ford tells any doubters to "go watch film."

"I play with a lot of technique," Ford said during the interview. "I watch a lot of film. These are the things I do, and it shows up."

Ford is listed as the No. 37 overall prospect by Scouts, Inc.

Manziel Runs 40-Yard Dash In 4.68 Seconds

Dec 7, 2014 2:29 PM

Johnny Manziel ran an official 40-yard dash of 4.68 seconds on Sunday.

Manziel was unable to compete with the 40-yard time of Robert Griffin III in 2012 (4.41), but it showed that he has more than enough speed for NFL scouts.

Derek Carr ran it in 4.69 seconds and Blake Bortles ran a 4.93. Teddy Bridgewater chose not to run.

Clowney Hopes Falcons Trade Up For Him

Oct 1, 2014 5:10 AM

Jadeveon Clowney would like to play for the Atlanta Falcons, but he doesn't want to fall to their pick at No. 6.

“I wish [the Falcons] could trade up for me,” Clowney told Vaughn McClure of ESPN.com. Clowney prefers a trade up, because he doesn’t want to be passed over five times. “I hope I don’t fall to No. 6. I like Atlanta — a lot,” Clowney said.

“They’re pretty good. They’ve got some guys from South Carolina on the team, also. And it’s close to home.”

The Falcons have admitted that they're considering moving up from No. 6 and a deal with the St. Louis Rams at No. 2 would make the most sense.

Buccaneers Considering QB With 7th Overall Pick

Oct 31, 2014 5:51 PM

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will consider drafting a quarterback with the seventh overall pick.

Mike Glennon finished the season as the starting quarterback of the Buccaneers.

"I know enough about that draft to know, yeah, there's someone that would be worthy of the seventh pick because everything is on the board right now,'' Lovie Smith said at the scouting combine in Indianapolis. "Whenever you have a chance to get a franchise quarterback, you have to consider that.''

Teddy Bridgewater, Johnny Manziel, Blake Bortles or Derek Carr could be available at No. 7.
