Cowboys Not Planning On Decreasing Workload Of Ezekiel Elliott

Nov 29, 2016 11:37 AM

The Dallas Cowboys have no plans to decrease the workload of Ezekiel Elliott.

"The more we give Ezekiel the ball, then I think the better," Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones said Tuesday. "We're winning with that. We're wearing them down on defense."

Elliott has 243 carries for 1,199 yards with 11 touchdowns and is on pace for 354 carries and 1,744 yards.

"I look back at Emmitt Smith. Everybody expressed, including ourselves, concern because Emmitt was carrying such a load," Jones said. "And of course I think he carried the ball more than I think anyone has in their career in the NFL. But Emmitt was solid. He was certainly productive."

Colts Expect Andrew Luck To Return From Concussion For Week 13

Nov 28, 2016 2:56 PM

The Indianapolis Colts expect Andrew Luck to play next week against the New York Jets.

Luck suffered his concussion -- the first of his career -- when Titans defensive tackle Austin Johnson landed on top of him after recording a sack with 11:46 remaining in Week 11.

Luck missed the Colts' Week 12 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers.

"You have to be prudent with your brain," Luck said. "Cautious maybe is the wrong word, but I think you have to do things by the book, and I do believe I have and our trainers and doctors have done a great job of informing me and sort of holding my hand per se along this trip."

Luck was sacked twice and hit eight other times against the Titans. He is believed to have suffered the concussion when Titans defensive tackle Austin Johnson landed on top of him after recording a sack with 11:46 remaining in the game.

Adrian Peterson Could Return As Early As Week 15

Nov 21, 2016 4:26 PM

Adrian Peterson could return by mid-to-late December as he continues to make solid progress in his recovery from a right lateral meniscus tear.

Peterson underwent surgery on Sept. 22nd.

Peterson had an exam late last week and could start running this week.

Peterson could return on Dec. 18th or Dec. 24th.

The Vikings waived Ronnie Hillman on Monday, adding defensive end Stephen Weatherly to their active roster. The move left them with just Jerick McKinnon and Matt Asiata at running back, but an eventual Peterson return would change the dynamics of the Vikings' offense.

Rob Gronkowski Likely Suffered Punctured Lung

Nov 15, 2016 12:36 PM

Rob Gronkowski is believed to have suffered a punctured lung in the New England Patriots' Week 10 loss to the Seattle Seahawks.

Gronkowski could miss just one game with the injury.

Gronkowski took a hit to chest in the second quarter from Earl Thomas that sent him to the sidelines for five plays.

"Yeah, that was a big hit for sure; probably one of the hardest I've got hit in my career for sure," said Gronkowski. "(It was) by a good player; a good fast player who's like a missile."

Thomas Rawls To Return For Week 11

Nov 14, 2016 1:38 PM

The Seattle Seahawks are planning on having Thomas Rawls back in their lineup for Week 11 when they play the Philadelphia Eagles.

"Thomas is ready to go," Carroll said, via ESPN.com's Sheil Kapadia. "He's going to practice to play this week."

The Seahawks' power run game has slumped the past few weeks with Christine Michael seeing fewer and fewer totes. In Sunday's win over the New England Patriots, shifty rookie C.J. Prosise took the majority of snaps, leading the team with 17 carries for 66 yards rushing and adding seven receptions for 87 yards.

Rawls has missed the last seven games with a fibula injury.
