C.J. Anderson Placed On IR, Likely Out For 2016

Oct 28, 2016 5:27 PM

The Denver Broncos have placed C.J. Anderson on injured reserve, which will likely end his season.

With Anderson on injured reserve, he has to be out for at least six weeks before he can return to practice and has to be out for a minimum of eight weeks before he can play in a game. The Broncos only have nine regular-season games remaining.

Anderson had a minor arthroscopic procedure to repair the meniscus in his right knee Thursday.

C.J. Anderson To Undergo Surgery On Right Knee

Oct 29, 2016 10:06 AM

C.J. Anderson will undergo surgery to determine the extent of damage to the meniscus in his right knee.

Anderson is out indefinitely.

Whether Anderson has a full or partial tear in the meniscus will be determined during the arthroscopic procedure, and a repair could be made. A full tear would almost surely end his season, and a partial tear could mean a four- or five-week absence.

Anderson suffered the injury during an 11-yard run on the last play of the first quarter of the Broncos' 27-9 victory over the Houston Texans Monday night.

Oct 26, 2016 4:50 PM

Donte Moncrief returned to practice Wednesday with the Indianapolis Colts and he said he would be "surprised" if he didn't play in Sunday's game against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Moncrief began the season as the Colts' No. 2 wide receiver behind T.Y. Hilton but injured his shoulder in Week 2.

"Never in my life missed any games -- this is the first one," Moncrief said. "First time for everything. ... I thought it was just a stinger at first. I didn't know what was going on. Come to find out it was hurt worse than what I thought."

LeSean McCoy Upgraded To Game-Time Decision For Week 7

Oct 21, 2016 4:05 PM

LeSean McCoy has been upgraded to a game-time decision for Week 7 against the Dolphins.

"We'll see how it goes," Rex Ryan said. "We'll be smart with him, but he looked pretty good [Friday]."

"I just felt all right," McCoy said of his return to practice Friday. "I didn't do a lot of reps today. Just was real limited, just seeing how I feel. We'll see what happens [at Saturday's walk-through practice]."

ESPN previously reported that McCoy would not play in the game.

McCoy said Friday that his injury this week was "not nearly as bad as [last year]. So that's a good thing."

LeSean McCoy Out For Week 7 With Hamstring Injury

Oct 20, 2016 4:19 PM

LeSean McCoy will miss Week 7 after suffering an injured hamstring in Wednesday's practice.

Rex Ryan had said earlier Thursday that McCoy did not suffer a "full blown" hamstring injury and he was hopeful to have him back Sunday.

Offensive coordinator Anthony Lynn wants to be cautious with McCoy's injury. When Lynn served as running backs coach last season, McCoy strained his hamstring in training camp and the injury lingered into the regular season.

Steelers Confident Ben Roethlisberger Didn't Suffer Long-Term Injury

Oct 18, 2016 8:21 AM

Ben Roethlisberger underwent knee surgery on Monday morning though a return date remains uncertain at this time.

Mike Tomlin's statement said that the Steelers are "confident" that Roethlisberger does not have a long-term injury.

Roethlisberger suffered a torn meniscus that will definitely sideline him for Pittsburgh's game in Week 7 against the Patriots.

Roethlisberger said after the game that he "felt something funny in my knee," which prompted a trip to the locker room.

Upon a first evaluation, the team doctor thought Roethlisberger's leg had hyperextended from the contact, said Roethlisberger, who also has bruising in his right knee from a separate, late-game collision.

Ben Roethlisberger To Undergo Surgery On Torn Meniscus

Oct 17, 2016 4:25 PM

Ben Roethlisberger will undergo surgery on Monday morning for a torn meniscus in his left knee.

Doctors expect the procedure on Roethlisberger's knee to be "a clean-up," not a full repair of the meniscus, and that generally favors a quicker recovery, but the team won't know how long he will be sidelined until after the surgery.

Roethlisberger is expected to miss one week at the very least.

Roethlisberger was sidelined with 8:18 left in the first half of Pittsburgh's Week 6 loss to the Dolphins.

Roethlisberger said after the game that he "felt something funny in my knee," prompting a trip to the locker room.
