Calvin Johnson may need offseason arthroscopic surgery on his sprained knee.

Doctors are recommending the surgery to alleviate swelling and to clean out loose bodies in his knee.

Johnson was inactive for the second game of the 2013 season in Week 17.

Johnson is two years into an eight-year, $132 million contract.

Larry Fitzgerald is active for the Arizona Cardinals' game against the Seattle Seahawks.

Fitzgerald suffered a concussion last week on an onside kick.

Adrian Peterson is questionable for the Minnesota Vikings' Week 16 game against the Cincinnati Bengals with an injured foot.

"It's feeling pretty good," Peterson said. "Starting to gain more strength in it, can put pressure on it, it's feeling good."

Toby Gerhart is expected to play.

Aaron Rodgers is not expected to play in Week 16 for the Green Bay Packers as he continues to recover from a broken collarbone.

"I don't see them clearing him unless something significantly changes with the doctor," the source said.

Matt Flynn would start at quarterback in his place.

The Packers are a half-game behind the Chicago Bears in the NFC North.

Wes Welker will likely sit out until the playoffs due to a concussion.

Welker suffered concussions in Week 11 and 14, and hasn't been medically cleared.

The Denver Broncos feel as though they have enough depth at receiver and tight end to sustain without Welker.

LeSean McCoy wants to carry the Philadelphia Eagles' offense over the final two games of the season.

The Eagles are vying for the NFC East with games against the Chicago Bears and Dallas Cowboys.

“This is a big game for us, very big,” McCoy said, via the Philadelphia Daily News. “The Cowboys, they’ll do what they gotta do, but for us, Philadelphia, we’ve got to win this game … I feel like this game, I want to put the offense on my back. I want to roll. I want to get goin’. I think me and the guys up front, we’ve got to set the tone. Once we do that, we can worry about the other teams. Right now, the big guys up front and myself, we need to put this game on our back, and take care of business.”

Bruce Arians expects Larry Fitzgerald to be cleared to play in Sunday's important game for the Arizona Cardinals against the Seattle Seahawks.

Fitzgerald suffered a concussion in Week 15 on an onside kick.

Fitzgerald has 73 catches for 823 yards and 10 touchdowns this season.

Aaron Rodgers plans to practice on Wednesday but isn't optimistic that his next scan will reveal significant changes to the status of his injured collarbone.

"I think you can probably guess," Rodgers said on his weekly ESPN radio show. "I have an idea what it's going to look like based on the previous one, the amount of days we have between scans, project that forward to a similar amount of days and have a pretty good idea and provide over-radiation."

Matt Flynn is expected to see the bulk of reps at start in practice.

"My hope," Rodgers said, "is that I practice tomorrow and experience no setbacks, mentally or physically, and then we'll go from there."

Larry Fitzgerald suffered a concussion on an onside kick in the fourth quarter of the Arizona Cardinals' 37-34 win over the Tennessee Titans.

Fitzgerald also was evaluated for a concussion last October.

Fitzgerald will have to pass the NFL's concussion protocol to play in the Cardinals' critical Week 16 matchup against the Seattle Seahawks.

Aaron Rodgers hasn't been cleared to play on Sunday against the Dallas Cowboys, but he's made progress.

"He looked good to me," Packers linebacker A.J. Hawk told NFL Media's Andrew Siciliano. "He did more than he did a week ago."

The Packers will start Matt Flynn instead of Rodgers.
