Schiano lasted just two seasons as head coach of the Buccaneers.

Dominik had been general manager of the Buccaneers since 2009.

"The results over the past two years have not lived up to our standards and we believe the time has come to find a new direction," wrote Bryan Glazer in a statement. Leslie Frazier Fired By Vikings

Sep 3, 2014 5:01 AM

The Minnesota Vikings have fired Leslie Frazier as head coach after a 5-10-1 season.

Frazier led the Vikings to a 10-6 record and a surprising berth in the playoffs in 2012.

The Vikings struggled this season with a poor defense and poor play at quarterback.

"We have tremendous respect and appreciation for Leslie and what he has done for the Minnesota Vikings," owner Zygi Wilf said in a statement distributed by the team. "He stepped in and established a strong positive culture here, and he has been the consummate professional as our head coach and in this community. Making this change is difficult but what we determined is best for the organization."

Jack Del Rio and Adam Gase, coordinators for the Denver Broncos, are on the Vikings' wish list.

Joe Thomas: Firing Rob Chudzinski Sets Everything Back

Jul 10, 2014 1:30 AM

Joe Thomas was strongly opposed to the Cleveland Browns firing Rob Chudzinski.

Thomas was named to his seventh Pro Bowl this season.

“You look at the great franchises. They don’t fire your coach after the first season. You can’t do it,” Thomas said.

The Browns went 4-12 this season.

“It sets everything back,” Thomas said. “You just hit the reset button. Anytime you hit the reset button, it severely damages the organization, and it lengthens the amount of time that it takes to get back to the playoffs and turn the team into a consistent winner. … I think that this organization needs continuity and that’s the only chance that we’re going to have to turn this team into a consistent winner.”
