Browns D-Coordinator Upset Over Protest

Oct 1, 2014 7:54 AM

Browns defensive coordinator Rob Ryan is upset over a planned protest by the team's fans. Two longtime season-ticket holders are planning a protest before Cleveland's Monday night game on Nov. 16, urging fans to stay away from their seats for the opening kickoff. "That [ticks] me off. This is Cleveland. They're going to show up and back this damn team," Ryan said. "This is a town that's tough and that loves football. Nobody's happy. I hate me, too. So they hate me. Great. Doesn't mean you turn your back. "I've got a kid who flunked a class one time and it [ticked] me off. I don't turn my back on him. I go get a tutor and help him."

Brady: Freeney Is NFL's Most Intimidating Player

May 19, 2014 11:22 PM

Patriots quarterback Tom Brady says that Colts defensive end Dwight Freeney is the NFL's most intimidating player. "Every time you throw the ball, (Freeney is) a factor. As a quarterback, you probably have anywhere from a second and a half to sometimes four seconds to make your decision and throw the ball," Brady told the Indianapolis Star. "With Freeney, it's probably consistently around two seconds with sometimes being from the time the ball is snapped, a second and a half, you've got to throw that ball. There's no time for decision-making. "You're making your decision before the ball is snapped based on the coverage."

Lewis Wishes He Had Ownership In Browns

Jul 14, 2014 10:17 AM

Browns running back Jamal Lewis wants the entire organization to be held accountable for the team's struggles. "I wish I had ownership in this team," Lewis told The News-Herald. "I wish [owner] Randy Lerner would entertain the thought. I'd do a whole lot organizationally. It's a bad time, right? Business is struggling, and this is a business." Lewis was then asked what his first change would be if he were Cleveland's owner. "I'm not going to give you that," Lewis said. "I wish I could. It's all about accountability. That's what I would instill ? accountability among everybody. That's how I run my businesses, and they're pretty good businesses. "Everybody is accountable for something. I don't just put it on my employees. I put it on management. I put it on my executives I'm paying the big bucks to. I put it on my executives and management and then everything trickles down to the employees. "I'm not saying that's lacking here, but at the same time, if you were to buy a business that isn't doing well, the first thing you need to look at is who is accountable for areas not doing well and handle it from there."
