Urlacher Reports For Mandatory Minicamp

Oct 2, 2014 9:24 AM

Bears' linebacker Brian Urlacher reported for the team's mandatory minicamp on Friday, according to The Associated Press. "When it says mandatory, you're supposed to be at those things, so that's why I'm here," Urlacher said. "I'm supposed to be here. I'm not trying to send any message. It's a mandatory team function, and we're supposed to be here." He did not participate in the team's voluntary workouts because of displeasure with his nine-year contract that expires after the 2011 season. "All that matters is I'm here with my teammates," Urlacher said. "That's really the only thing that matters right now."

Packers To Give Favre His Locker

Oct 21, 2014 3:20 PM

The Packers plan to give legendary quarterback Brett Favre his locker from Lambeau Field, according to The Green Bay Press-Gazette. "He'll get his locker," General Manager Ted Thompson said. "I kind of messed up the timing. I didn't realize people would have such a to-do about it, but the timing of it in order to do it properly will be in between our minicamp and training camp sometime, when things slow down, and (the maintenance staff) has time to go in there and do the work. We were kind of going to do it under the radar, but it obviously took on a life of its own."

Green Bay's 'KGB' Has Surgery On Knee

Oct 21, 2014 3:21 PM

Green Bay defensive end Kabeer Gbaja-Biamila had arthroscopic surgery on his knee Thursday morning, according to The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel. The knee problems popped up in the recent offseason workouts, with the procedure considered to be just a preventative measure. "Pretty much. It's something that he's not a young puppy anymore, and it is something that's kind of been bothering him of late, so [team doctor] Pat McKenzie thought it was best to do something now," said Packers' Coach Mike McCarthy. McCarthy doesn't expect KGB to return to the team until late July. "I talked to Pat, and he said everything went great. He doesn't expect any problems," said Packers' General Manager Ted Thompson.
