Candlestick Park finally got its good name back Friday, as reported by the Associated Press. After two much-criticized naming rights agreements with corporate sponsors over the past 12 years, the 49ers formally announced their aging stadium will be known as Candlestick Park for the rest of its days. The 48-year-old stadium was called Monster Park for the last 3 1/2 years although it seemed only the 49ers and their contractually obligated broadcasters actually used the name.

Tedy Bruschi has agreed to a multi-year contract with the Patriots, according to an Associated Press report. A person within the league, speaking Thursday night on condition of anonymity, said the deal is expected to be signed Friday.

The Rams released Isaac Bruce on Thursday, according to ESPN.com. Bruce was cut by St. Louis last season but was re-signed for this season.

Larry Fitzgerald's $14.6 million salary will restrict the Cardinals' movement in free agency if they can't come to terms on restructuring his contract. Sources tell the Arizona Republic that the two sides are not close on reaching an agreement.

The Philadelphia Eagles have cut Jevon Kearse, as reported by the Associated Press. The Eagles released the former Rookie of the Year Thursday. The 31-year-old defensive end failed to live up to the lofty expectations when he signed as a free agent in 2004.

The Giants and Tom Coughlin have reportedly agreed to terms on a four-year contract extension that will pay him $21 million, according to ESPN.com. The New York Daily News first reported the story.

The Baltimore Ravens have terminated the contract of running back Mike Anderson, according to the Associated Press. The move will save the Ravens roughly $1.8 million in salary cap space. Anderson won the Offensive Rookie of the Year award with Denver and had two years remaining on his deal with Baltimore.

Ty Law was one of four players informed by the Chiefs that they would be released on Wednesday, according to ESPN.com Linebacker Kendrell Bell, defensive tackle James Reed, and tight end Jason Dunn will also be released by the team, according to the report.

The Chargers are likely to address Antonio Cromartie's long-term contract situation next offseason. The San Diego Union-Tribune suggests Cromartie could become the NFL's first $100 million cornerback. Cromartie had 10 interceptions in 2007 on his way to the Pro Bowl, a game in which he added two more picks.

Stephen Davis is expected to sign an honorary contract with the Carolina Panthers on Wednesday to retire as a member of the team, according to the Charlotte Observer. "Even though he played longer with the Redskins, Stephen wanted to retire a Panther," his agent David Canter told the Observer on Tuesday. "There were a lot of different reasons, but it's mainly a testament to the Richardson family (team owners), General Manager Marty Hurney and Coach (John) Fox. They are among the classiest people he's ever been around."
