Taylor: I May Not Be In Jacksonville Next Season

Sep 21, 2014 6:54 AM

Fred Taylor has acknowledged that he may not be in Jacksonville next season. Taylor plans to plan another season in the NFL, but realizes that with his salary going up and playing time going down, he could leave the only team he has ever played for. "You do the math," Taylor said. "If you were on the outside looking in, you would think a change was coming." Taylor's first choice would be to remain with the Jaguars, but he also knows how the business side of the league works. "I just want to play football," Taylor said. "This is where my heart is. Jacksonville is all I know. This isn't the last stop. It took me eight years to learn that there were 31 other teams in the NFL. I've always been afraid to get cut, be released, all of that. How come you think I'm still here? I never ever wanted to go into free agency."
