Packers' Favre Isn't Sure About Playing In 2008
Brett Favre told ESPN on Wednesday that he hasn't decided whether or not he'll return to the field next season despite numerous reports that he plans to return in 2008.
"I haven't decided yet," Favre told ESPN. "We just played a little over a week ago. I'm going to take a few more weeks. Our coaching staff is coaching in the Pro Bowl next week. When they get done, [Coach] Mike [McCarthy] and I . . . we'll just discuss it more in a couple weeks."
NFL Expected To Announce Annual Bills' Game In Toronto
Commissioner Roger Goodell was expected to announce plans Friday for the Bills to play an annual regular-season game in Toronto starting this year, according to an Associated Press report.
The announcement, to come during Goodell's State of the League Address, would make the Bills the first team to play annual regular-season NFL games outside the US.
Brady On Plax Prediction: Only 17 Points?
Tom Brady is puzzled by the prediction of Plaxico Burress, who said that the Giants will beat the Patriots 23-17 in this Sunday's Super Bowl and briefly addressed the wide receiver's comments on Wednesday.
"We're only going to score 17 points?" Brady told the AP this morning before chuckling. "OK. Is Plax playing defense?"
"I wish he had said 45-42 and gave us a little credit for more points," he added.
Indianapolis To Make Bid For 2012 Super Bowl
A group from Indianapolis is traveling to Arizona this week, with intentions of making a bid for the Super Bowl in 2012, according to the Associated Press.
The city lost to Dallas in their bid for the 2011 game last year.
"Indianapolis is a great football city and, frankly, it deserves a Super Bowl," city Mayor Greg Ballard told the AP. "They're going to send it back to a cold-weather city on occasion, and this is our time."
Pats Forced To Wait Until Free Agency To Re-Ink Moss
It appears as though Randy Moss will re-sign with the New England Patriots beyond this season, but they will have to wait until the free agent period begins at the end of February, according to ESPN.com
"I would love to finish my career [in New England], just for the fact of they have everything you want in a football organization," Moss told ESPN. "They handle things from the top, all the way to the bottom, and they do a good job of that."
Broncos' Lynch Still Pondering Retirement
Denver safety John Lynch is still thinking about retiring, according to NFL.com.
"The answer is that I haven't made that decision yet. I'm not being evasive or anything. It's just being true with you that I haven't come to that time," Lynch told the Associated Press as he prepared for his ninth Pro Bowl on Tuesday.
Plaxico Predicts 23-17 Giants' Win
Just days after declaring that New York's receivers are better than New England's, the Giants' Plaxico Burress told the New York Post that his team will win the Super Bowl on Sunday, 23-17.
He didn't name the Giants as the victor, but it is pretty obvious which team he feels will come away victorious this Sunday.
Arbitrator Rules For Eagles, T.O. Owes $750k
Terrell Owens owes the Philadelphia Eagles another $800,000 after an arbitrator ruled against him last week, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer.
The NFL players' union was contesting the Eagles' attempt to reclaim nearly $1.75 million of the $2.3 million signing bonus that Philadelphia gave him when he signed a seven-year deal in 2004.
Ross Gets Sick As Giants Torn Up By Flu
The flu has torn through the New York Giants, according to the Associated Press. Cornerback Aaron Ross caught something recently and got sick on the team's flight to Arizona.
He was so sick that the flight was delayed for nearly an hour. Several other players missed practice on Monday because of both the flu and high body temperatures.
"It's not a sign," defensive end Michael Strahan told the AP.
Agent: Browns, Crennel Agree To Two-Year Extension
Romeo Crennel has agreed to terms on a two-year contract extension with the Browns, his agent said Monday night.
Crennel, the league's oldest coach, had two years remaining on the five-year deal he signed with the Browns in 2005. His agent, Joe Linta, said the sides have agreed in principle to the extension but that it has not yet been signed, according to an Associated Press report.
