Chiefs Begin Work At WR By Releasing Donnie Avery, A.J. Jenkins

Feb 17, 2015 7:22 PM

The Kansas City Chiefs began working on overhauling their wide receiver corps by releasing Donnie Avery and A.J. Jenkins.

Jenkins, the 49ers' No. 30 overall pick in 2012, is one of the biggest draft busts in recent memory. He has managed a paltry 17 receptions for 223 yards in three NFL seasons under Jim Harbaugh and Andy Reid, two of the most respected offensive coaches in the game.

The Chiefs became the first tteam since the 1970 merger to not have a single touchdown scored by a wide receiver.

Buccaneers Release Josh McCown

Feb 13, 2015 10:47 AM

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have released Josh McCown after one season.

McCown started 11 games in 2014, throwing 11 touchdowns and 14 interceptions after signing a two-year, $10 million contract with the Bucs in March.

The deal didn't have a signing bonus meaning the Buccaneers won't suffer a cap hit.

The Buccaneers will presumably take a quarterback with the first overall pick.
