Matt Ryan Becomes Fastest To 40,000 Passing Yards

Nov 13, 2017 8:19 AM

Matt Ryan threw for 215 yards as the Atlanta Falcons defeated the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday afternoon, allowing him to become the fastest player in NFL history to surpass 40,000 passing yards.

Ryan has 40,073 yards through 151 career games. Drew Brees, previously the fastest to the mark, needed 152 career games.

"I've been fortunate to play with a number of great players throughout my nine-and-a-half or 10 years here,'' Ryan said. "I have been fortunate to be on some really good teams and to be able to stay healthy. I'm proud of that. I hope that there's another 40,000 in there, and I can keep playing for a long time."

Ryan is the 19th quarterback to surpass 40,000 yards in league history.

Titans Struggling On Third Down, While In Red Zone

Nov 3, 2017 8:12 AM

The Tennessee Titans will look to improve their third down success rate and ability to score in the red zone over the second half of the season.

At 4-3, the Titans are tied with the Jacksonville Jaguars atop the AFC South.

"Just taking a step back and looking at what we've done, we haven't accomplished anything," Marcus Mariota said. "We're 4-3. We're in the thick of it in our division. But that's not where we want to be. We want to finish on top. We want to be in the playoffs. We want to do all those types of things. In order to do that, we'll have to be better on third down as an offense. We'll have to be better in the red zone as an offense, and I think guys understand that. Looking back on it, guys did have some time to reflect, and I think going forward we should be better."

Tennessee was the best red zone team in the NFL last season, scoring a touchdown on 72 percent of its trips inside the 20-yard line. This season, that mark is just 41.2 percent ahead of only the Arizona Cardinals.
