Dee Ford Underwent 'Extensive' Knee Surgery After Super Bowl

May 29, 2020 3:47 PM

Dee For underwent extensive knee surgery following Super Bowl LIV.

Dr. James Andrew underwent the surgery on Ford's left knee.

"We were spot-on with the injury as far as diagnosing it in training camp," Ford said. "I had a severe case of tendinitis. ... With my position, that's a blown tire. I feel great right now. I'm able to actually explode off of this knee. Thinking back on it, I can't believe I played a whole season on it, and we knew at the end of the day what we had to do. It had to be surgical, but I didn't want to miss the season. We had too much going on. I didn't want to miss that. It's in the bag now, though, I'm confident in that."

Ford has said the knee (and corresponding quadriceps issue) plagued him for many of his previous six seasons in the NFL -- perhaps never more so than last season, his first in San Francisco.

Saints DE Noah Spence Tears ACL While Training

May 27, 2020 9:03 AM

New Orleans Saints defensive end Noah Spence suffered a torn ACL while training away from the team, according to a source.

Spence was placed on the reserve/non-football injury list since the injury did not occur as part of New Orleans' offseason training program. The team cancelled their programs because of the coronavirus pandemic.

He can't play for the Saints this year and won't count against their 90-man roster.

Spence, 26, was scheduled to make $910,000 on a one-year deal if he made the Saints' 53-man roster.

Seahawks Expect Chris Carson To Be Ready For Season

May 1, 2020 8:48 AM

The Seattle Seahawks expect to have a healthy Chris Carson when the 2020 season begins.

Carson fractured his hip in a Week 16 loss, but he's progressing well.

However, the Seahawks aren't as sure about Rashaad Penny. Penny tore his ACL a few weeks before Carson went down.
