Michael Thomas has been ruled out for Week 8 against the Chicago Bears with a hamstring injury.

Thomas has played in just one game this season.

There has been speculation Thomas' camp is trying to get him traded by the New Orleans Saints. 

Gardner Minshew has multiple fractures and a strained ligament in his right thumb.

Minshew has had discomfort in his thumb since Jacksonville's Oct. 11 game at Houston.

The Jaguars (1-6) didn't know about Minshew's injury until this week.

Jacksonville's backup quarterback is Mike Glennon.

Julian Edelman underwent a precautionary standard knee procedure and will miss the New England Patriots' Week 8 game on Sunday.

Edelman has been limited all season because of his knee. Edelman leads the team with 21 receptions for 315 yards.

New England could be limited to Damiere Byrd, Jakobi Meyers and Gunner Olszewski at receiver for the game.

Christian McCaffrey won't play in the Carolina Panthers' Week 8 game on Thursday night against the Atlanta Falcons with his high ankle sprain.

McCaffrey returned to practice Monday and on Tuesday was given a designation to return from injured reserve.

McCaffrey suffered the injury during a Week 2 loss to Tampa Bay.

Carolina is 3-2 without McCaffrey as Mike Davis has averaged more than 100 yards from scrimmage in his first four games.

Christian McCaffrey returned to practice with the Carolina Panthers on Monday for the first time in five weeks.

It remains to be seen if McCaffrey will play on Thursday night against the Atlanta Falcons.

"It's a possibility,'' coach Matt Rhule said. "That's sort of out of my hands. I'm hopeful that will happen.''

McCaffrey did not participate in Monday's light workout and would have to go through a full practice on Tuesday or Wednesday for the team to consider taking him off injured reserve.

"If you know Christian, he wants to play,'' Rhule said.

The San Francisco 49ers have lost two more key contributors on offense.

Deebo Samuel and Jeff Wilson, Jr. are expected to miss extended time after they both played major roles in Sunday's win over the New England Patriots.

Samuel is dealing with a left hamstring strain and will "most likely" San Francisco's next two games.

Wilson suffered a high left ankle sprain and is expected to go on injured reserve this week.

Odell Beckham has suffered a torn ACL and is out for the season.

Beckham had caught 23 balls fo 319 yards and three touchdowns to go with one rushing touchdown in his second season with the Cleveland Browns.

In 2019, Beckham caught 74 balls for 1,035 yards and four touchdowns.

Beckham turns 28 in November.

Michael Thomas underwent an MRI this week on his hamstring injury that revealed a Grade 1 strain that is expected to sideline him for one to two weeks.

Thomas was already ruled out for Week 7 and could also miss Week 8 against the Chicago Bears.

Thomas previously had a high ankle sprain suffered in Week 1.

Sunday's contest will be the fifth consecutive game that Thomas has missed after he suffered the high ankle sprain and was benched for team disciplinary reasons in Week 5.

The New Orleans Saints will be without Michael Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders for Week 7.

Thomas is dealing with a hamstring injury.

Sanders tested positive for COVID-19 on Friday.

The San Francisco 49ers are likely to place Raheem Mostert on injured reserve with a high left ankle sprain.

Mostert suffered the injury on Sunday night against the Los Angeles Rams.

"We'll see how it progresses," Kyle Shanahan said.

Mostert leads the 49ers with 303 yards on 51 carries and boasts a 5.94-yards-per-carry average.
