DeAngelo Hall, who tore his Achilles tendon last month and underwent surgery to repair it, tore it again this week and will have to redo the surgery, according to sources.

Hall still is likely to be ready for next summer's training camp, though this second injury and surgery will make it that much more difficult.

Robert Griffin III will start for Wednesday this Sunday against the Minnesota Vikings.

NBC4 D.C. earlier reported the decision.

Griffin hasn't played since dislocating his left ankle in Week 2.

Colt McCoy helped lead Washington to a victory on Monday over the Dallas Cowboys.

Calvin Johnson "definitely expects to play" in Week 10 after the team returns from a bye, DetroitLions.com reports.

Johnson hasn't played since Week 5 while recovering from an ankle injury that limited his performance in previous games.

Johnson caught seven passes for 164 yards and two touchdowns in the season opener, but managed just 15 catches for 184 yards and no scores in the next four weeks.

Justin Durant has been placed on season-ending injured reserve by the Dallas Cowboys due to a torn right biceps.

Durant leads the Cowboys with 49 tackles and suffered the injury in the second half of the Cowboys' loss to Washington on Monday.

Tim Dobbins was signed to replace Durant on the roster.

Tony Romo will be available to play on Sunday for the Dallas Cowboys against the Arizona Cardinals if he can tolerate the pain in his back.

"We have nothing medically that would prevent him from playing," Jones said on 105.3 The Fan in Dallas on Wednesday morning. "What I mean by that is there is nothing to his injury that won't function.

"This is a function of pain tolerance, [and] it is a serious issue. You could look at people who had similar-type contusions or a similar-type injury and haven't played the next week, so that would cause you some concern."

Romo needed surgery last December to repair a herniated disk.

Nick Fairley has injuries to his MCL and PCL and could miss 4-5 weeks.

Fairley is scheduled to become a free agent this offseason and his injury makes the already difficult situation even tougher for the Detroit Lions.

If a short-term deal can’t be reached at some point, Fairley’s injury might seal Detroit’s decision to move on.

NaVorro Bowman is getting closer to returning to the San Francisco 49ers' lineup and has somehow gotten faster as he recovers from his ACL injury.

“I talked to him the other day in the weight room before I left and he was all excited ‘cause he had gotten to run a full-speed 40 for the first time in a long time and broke the 4.5 range — it was in the 4.5 range,” Trent Baalke said, via Matt Maiocco of CSNBayArea.com. “So he was all excited. But he’s coming along very well. When he’s set to return remains to be seen. But progressing well, as is Patrick (Willis).”

Bowman ran a 4.70 at the 2010 NFL Scouting Combine, and followed that up with a 4.62 at his pro day workout at Penn State.

The Cincinnati Bengals are preparing to play in Week 8 without A.J. Green.

Green is battling ligament damage under his big toe and want to be careful with the lingering injury.

The Bengals have been without Green for the past two straight games.

Reggie Wayne will be out of the Indianapolis Colts' lineup against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Wayne is currently dealing with an elbow injury he suffered last week against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Wayne has caught 38 passes for 434 yards and one touchdown this season. 

Chandler Jones is expected to miss one month with a hip injury.

Jones recorded four tackles and a sack in the New England Patriots' Week 7 win over the New York Jets.

Jones has 4.5 sacks over six games this season.
