Source: Welker Has Torn Rotator Cuff

In addition to undergoing surgery to repair torn ligaments in his left knee, Patriots wide receiver Wes Welker is also recovering from a torn rotator cuff this offseason, according to a source. The source said the knee, not the rotator cuff, remains Welker's primary obstacle in returning for the 2010 season. He led the NFL with 123 receptions last season despite missing two games.

Free-agent safety Darren Sharper had minor arthroscopic surgery on his left knee, but plans to play in 2010. He arrived at Monday's premiere of an NFL Films championship video using crutches, but described the procedure as a minor cleanup and assured that he's feeling "real good."
