Richie Incognito Signs With Raiders

May 28, 2019 3:18 PM

Richie Incognito has signed with the Oakland Raiders.

Incognito hasn't played in the NFL since 2017.

Mike Mayock was asked how his goals to build a foundation with high character are congruent with Incognito's history of character issues.

"Whenever he's been focused on activities solely on the field, he's been fine and we've done a one-year prove-it deal with him," Mayock said, later adding that it was for the veterans minimum. "And prove it means both on and off the field. There's some expectations he's got to meet in both areas. He turns 36 in July, we think he's going to be a good football player and allow himself to compete for the left guard job and just as impiortant, he's got to prove it off the field.

"We're going to provide the infrastructure for him. At the end of the day, it's a two way street - we've got to help him help himself."

Pacman Jones Announces Retirement From NFL

May 24, 2019 6:07 PM

Pacman Jones has announced his retirement from the NFL after 12 seasons.

"I'm content," Jones told ESPN's Josina Anderson Friday. "I had a hell of a run doing it. I'm at the point where I didn't feel I would be top level if I tried to play now. I'm happy and I'm looking forward to spending more time with my family and the kids."

Jones was a first-team All-Pro in 2014.

Jones was drafted by the Tennessee Titans in the first round of the 2005 draft and played one season for the Dallas Cowboys in 2008. Jones didn't play in 2009 after being released by Dallas.

Tyler Boyd Seeking $40M Deal From Bengals

May 24, 2019 8:39 AM

Tyler Boyd is entering the final year of his rookie contract with the Cincinnati Bengals.

Boyd broke out with a 1,028-yard season in 2018 and made it clear he wants to remain with the Bengals.

"That's what I'm saying, bruh, I want to be here," he said. "I think they feel that and know that. In my feeling, I think it is going to be done before camp. But ain't no telling. I'm just going to continue to keep being patient and trust the process."

Boyd is set to make just $981,000 in base salary in 2019, but believes he's in line for a deal similar to the one Sterling Shepard received from the New York Giants.

"I definitely look at the market and see where guys is at. A great example is Sterling Shepard. I feel like our game is kind of similar, kind of close," Boyd mused. "He got four for $40 million. I kind of feel like I'm in that area. Hopefully, they come like that or a little bit more or around that way. I feel like my ability is worth that much. I feel like my value is that much. But I'm not going to go out there asking something crazy because I had one great year. I want to continue to show them that I can do that every single year, that I'm a 1,000-yard receiver every year."

Dak Prescott Submits Counteroffer To Cowboys

May 23, 2019 11:36 AM

Negotiations between the Dallas Cowboys and Dak Prescott are going well, according to Jerry Jones.

"I'd generally say going well," Jones said. "These things never have a definitive answer. Because you never know if you've done it until you've done it."

Prescott is entering the final season of his rookie contract and is reportedly targeting a extension worth at least $30 million per year.

The quarterback recently said that he and his team have submitted a counteroffer to the Cowboys.

"I can't really say on that. It's one from each side," Prescott said of how close the two sides were on compensation. "So yeah, it's my first time doing this. Ask me in a few years and I'll know I'll be able to tell you we sent this one, they sent this one, we're about to get it done. But right now, I'm learning the process too and letting my team handle their business."

Rivers, 37, has one year remaining on his contract, paying him $11 million in base salary this season and counting $23 million against the salary cap.
