Giants Seek At Least Two First Round Picks For Odell Beckham Jr.

Mar 29, 2018 12:36 PM

The New York Giants are seeking at least first round picks in exchange for Odell Beckham Jr. The Giants insist, however, they are not shopping Beckham in trade talks.

There have been reports that Beckham would not play this season without an extension, while another report indicated the Rams were pursuing a trade for him.

"Neither Odell nor his agent have contacted us regarding either report," Gettleman said Tuesday at the NFL owners meetings. "So to be clear: I'm not going to respond to questions about either report, and as I stated earlier, every decision I make is going to be in the best interest of the New York football Giants."

While there have been some off-field issues with Beckham, he has been widely considered a good teammate and a hard worker.

"The kid works his fanny off," Dave Gettleman said. "His [ankle] rehab is going terrific. He sends us pictures, sends us a video about him running. He's an excellent worker."

Seahawks Cut Trevone Boykin After Alleged Domestic Violence Incident

Mar 27, 2018 4:23 PM

The Seattle Seahawks have released quarterback Trevone Boykin following a report he is under investigation for an alleged domestic violence incident.

Shabrika Bailey told WFAA that Boykin attempted to choke her and broke her jaw in two places during an incident that occurred at his home last week. She said she blacked out while Boykin was attempting to choke her and then came to in a "puddle of blood on the kitchen floor."

Bailey said Boykin drove her to Dallas Regional Medical Center in Mesquite, Texas, and that he fled when hospital staff began questioning the two separately.

Boykin called Bailey's allegations "false."

"I understand the Seahawks' decision to release me. The story that was reported casts a bad light on the organization and on me. I want to be clear that the story is false. The police have taken statements from the accuser, another witness and me. All of these statements confirm that I was not involved in the physical altercation. This woman has lied about me and it has cost me my job. I know guilt by association is real. This person has fabricated a story and I am suffering the consequences. I will let the legal system run its course and I know I will be vindicated," he said.

GM: Steelers Will Handle Le'Veon Bell Deal At 'Appropriate Time'

Mar 26, 2018 10:31 AM

The Pittsburgh Steelers aren't overly concerned about Le'Veon Bell's contract demands.

"We're still hopeful, Steve," Kevin Colbert told the NFL Network's Steve Wyche of getting a multi-year deal done with Bell. "When you make that decision, you're obviously in negotiations prior to making the tag as we did, but once you make the tag, you move onto other business that's more pertinent at this point, and that's dealing with free agency and draft preparations. We still want to get through that period and then we'll address it at the appropriate time, but our long-term goal has always to have Le'Veon be a Steeler for his career."

Bell is under the franchise tag for the second straight season.

The Steelers are currently focused on free agency and the upcoming draft.
