USC has hired Clay Helton as their permanent head coach.

Helton was named interim head coach when Steve Sarkisian was fired.

Chip Kelly and Jeff Fisher have been linked to the USC vacancy.

The future of Les Miles at LSU will likely be decided after Saturday's regular season finale.

One name that has been discussed as a possible replacement is Florida State coach Jimbo Fisher, a former LSU assistant.

Miles is under contract through 2019 with a 2015 buyout figure of $15 million. His buyout would decrease to $12.9 million if he was fired after Jan. 1.

Miles and his staff, meanwhile, currently have the No. 1 class in the 2016 ESPN RecruitingNation rankings, with 19 commitments. 

Nick Saban is not expected to be tempted to leave Alabama for the NFL.

Saban had a brief stint in the NFL with the Miami Dolphins, leaving LSU in the process.

Stanford's David Shaw, UCLA's Jim Mora and Auburn's Gus Malzahn are also college coaches expected to receive NFL interest.

The Indianapolis Colts are among the teams that have been linked to a pursuit of Saban.
