Bo Pelini's Job At Nebraska Not In Danger

Nov 23, 2014 8:54 AM

Bo Pelini's job as head coach at Nebraska is not in jeopardy.

Nebraska lost 38-17 to Iowa to end the regular season.

Pelini came under scrutiny in September with the release of a two-year-old audio tape in which he criticized Nebraska's fans and talked of leaving the school.

"They want to fire me, go ahead," he said Friday. "I believe in what I've done. I don't apologize for what I've done. I don't apologize to you. I don't apologize to anybody."

"My approach has always been not to comment publicly about our coaches until their full seasons are complete, as I strongly believe it is unfair and counter to best practices," Nebraska athletic director Shawn Eichorst said in the statement. "However, given the volume of unfounded speculation and conjecture about our head football coach, I want to reaffirm what I have said many times since I arrived at the University of Nebraska -- that I positively respect, appreciate and support our football student-athletes, coaches and staff, as we do everyone in the Husker family."

Saban Unsure How Much Longer He Wants To Coach

Jun 26, 2014 5:59 PM

Nick Saban is "happy" at Alabama, but is unsure how much longer he plans to continue coaching.

Saban is already 62 years of age and has led Alabama to three BCS titles over the past four years.

"I really don't know," Saban said during the interview. "I feel like as long as I enjoy what I'm doing.

"I'm happy with what I'm doing and I feel like I can make a contribution to the young people, and they respond to do things the right way and is actually benefiting them to help them be more successful in their life. As long as I'm healthy and can do that and I'm happy doing it, then I'm going to do it."

Shaw Told Stanford: We're Going To Run Oregon Out Of Stadium

Oct 15, 2014 11:38 PM

Stanford upset Oregon 26-20 in a game that was made close by a frenetic series of special teams plays by the Ducks with the game seemingly out of reach late in the fourth quarter.

Stanford's gameplan was to run the ball frequently and keep Oregon's offense off the field.

Tyler Gaffney had 45 carries for 157 yards, while quarterback Kevin Hogan ran eight times for 57 yards and a touchdown.

As the fourth quarter began, David Shaw informed his offense that Stanford would stop throwing the ball for the rest of the game.

"We're not going to pass it anymore," said Shaw. "We're done. We're going to run the ball and we're going to run them out of the stadium."
